There are many different strains of polio. Salk is credited with developing the first. But even that one needed to be tested for years with many thousands of volunteers. And after years of research and development and hundreds of thousands of tests, as each strain was "solved" and released, it still had to be distributed to millions of people. That means people had to be trained, the vaccine had to be manufactured and so on.

I don't even pretend to be on expert on this stuff, but I knew that. And you should be heartily bitch slapped for being so damn ignorant.
