If RBG is gone, how about a deal: Merrick Garland for the wall and immigration reform?

Which option would Nancy and Chuck pick to replace RBG?

  • Amy Coney Barrett, Notre Dame professor

  • Merrick Garland, with immigration reform and $25b border security, including wall funding

Garland wasn't the first nominee to get no hearing, to get no vote. He won't be the last.
First in a hundred years

But you are correct. He won’t be the last
Republicans have created a new norm for filling court vacancies
Vacancies will now remain unfilled until a President of your party takes office

Republicans have created a new norm for filling court vacancies

Yup, Borking finally caught up to the Dems.

Bork had a Senate hearing and a vote by all Senators
He was rejected as unsuitable

Garland was rejected before he was even selected

Yup, Borking finally caught up to the Dems.
Even Republicans voted against him
He was that bad
Bork wasn't bad, it was the fact that he fired Archibald Cox and executed the "Saturday Night Massacre". It wasn't his knowledge, it was his character.

We used to have a time where people on both parties crossed the aisle. Today, the progressive socialists are near lockstep in their agendas with the non progressive socialists crossing the aisle. And damn near all of the have an R next to their name.

Works for me

Republicans owe the Dems a Supreme Court pick

SC picks are not like holding onto pickdiddle or punch buggy hits.
Republican actions with Garland created a rift between the parties

It will not go away with Republicans putting out a hand and saying.....Let’s be friends

Wow are you oblivious.

We’ve had a rift between the parties since at least the Florida recount in 2000 when Democrats tried to steal the presidency before a national audience. Ever since they failed they have gone hyper partisan in the extreme. You guys are literally advocating the killing of children and upset at Trump over his efforts to stop human trafficking.

Sad thing is ending the divide would be easy. Let go of your anger and lust for power and actually work to make the country better for once

You can’t Trust Trump to follow through with anything. If I’m offered that deal by the White House, I laugh them out of the room.

Hilarious , given that Schumer and Pelosi have repeatedly made deals with Republicans and then not kept their word since the 1980s and yet you have nothing to say.

I hope you are fire in bed for some guy Candy, because you truly have no other redeeming qualities as far as I can see.

Republicans poisoned the well with the Garland nonsense

They can expect no cooperation until it is rectified

Amy Coney Barrett, Notre Dame professor

1. No catch & release
2. No diversity lottery
3. No asylum claims unless pre-approved
4. No chain migration
5. Only merit based immigration for who the US needs
6. No birthright citizenship, i.e. no cottage industry for anchor babies
7. DACA kids get green cards but NOT citizenship
8. $25b for the wall and border security,

There, fixed

Got any examples

No we don’t.

And the answer is hell no.

As nice as a wall would be, it’s not worth the supreme court

Dems are rightfully pissed

There will be no cooperation between the parties until Republicans make good

The wall is just a start

No. You’re completely unjustified in your anger. You are angry that the people keep throwing you out of power. Yet you demonstrate time and time again that they are right to

I don't believe Nancy and Chuck should decide whom Trump picks to replace RGB. The House has no role here. And the Dems are in a minority in the Senate.

Translation: we are angry you used your constitutional powers to deny us our power grab on the court so we are going to throw a temper tantrum and pretend that we are victims like we always do

To be fair, that was a pussy move by the Republicans. They should have simply voted NO on Garland

Republicans have poisoned the well
After eight years of non cooperation with Obama they can expect nothing
