Impeachment

Ronald Reagan sold weapons to the leading terrorist nation ... behind congresses' back ... in direct violation of the Constitution. Research Iran-Contra.

George Bush, after being warned by his legal staff, conducted the largest warrantless wiretapping program in U.S. History. And he got caught.

A mountain of evidence suggests that the plan to invade Iraq was decided long before 9/11, and that George Bush made the intelligence fit the policy.

If Reagan and Bush were not Impeached, there is no way Obama comes close to getting impeached.

(Yawn)

(More rightwing spam)

Ron Suskind: Ron Suskind: Articles
Iran was not the worst terrorist in the world, albeit they were disgusting even back then. The worst terrorist in the world in that time was Saddam Hussein of Iraq, who attacked Iran over a 25-square mile section of beachfront property on the Persian Gulf, which his bloody war of 10 years did not win. He did manage a record kill rate even for him during those years. We were duly upset with Iran over the Hostage crisis, however. It blinded us to the worst killers in the Middle East--Hussein and bin Laden who was far worse than Niccolò Machiavelli.

Not even close to different; Reagan simply used Israel as a black bag outfit. But, like I said, I don't care. And at the time, I thought arming the contras to be more counterproductive to US interests than selling military hardware to maybe get hostages back, while not wanting to let anybody know the US was willing to pay for hostages. I mean, if you're a hostage, you want out, and the niceties of how it gets done ... hell with that.

Arming the anti-Communists was counterproductive to the goal of America becoming a Soviet client state, which Jim Wright and BlindBoo wanted, but for rational folk, ending the USSR was a much better goal - which Reagan accomplished specifically by arming insurgents against Soviet rule.

Hey, we all have our own goal. Reagan wanted a free and prosperous nation, Boo wanted a totalitarian dictatorship where all hope was sucked out and crushed - just a difference of opinions....

The funny thing was that back in the 80s, the dems were literally horrified to think they might have impeachment with Reagan, because they knew it'd be a political disaster ... and frankly the Boland Amendment was bordering on crossing the line on the executive's power on for policy, if not over the line.

ROFL

You get history the DNC way, huh? You just make it up as you go.

And yes, the Boland Amendment was unconstitutional. But the main thing is that the Administration never sold arms to Iran, making any legal action impossible.

Besides, but Reagan's second term, the dims didn't even have the House votes, much less the Senate votes.

Why impeach ?

let him

follow JFKs steps..............

let him become

a legend??? :eusa_whistle:

... a legend

Well now, that was pretty fucking disgusting, but not all too surprising. It's not just the stupidity but rather, the raw, unbridled hatred that literally oozes out of the Right that makes me so sad for it.

40 years ago, no decent human being would have even thought to say what you said. This is how low we have sunk in 40 years.

What you wrote is absolutely vile. May God forgive you for more than indirectly suggesting the murder of our President.

Spit.

True.

One can only hope such ignorance and hate is not representative of conservatives as a whole. Unfortunately it is likely this ignorance and hate is common among a significant number of conservatives, however.

40 years ago... you may be correct. How would you defend this little gem, then:

The pattern of deception for political gain should be enough to impeach him AND try him AND convict him. Mere impeachment won't get obama into prison.

Obama derangement syndrome is an amazing new mental illness, the cure is unknown. If it isn't trying to control votes through gerrymandering, or checking grandmas for an ID, impeachment is their next step. Losers are too funny, you'd think by now they'd have gotten over it? But no, the whining over democracy continues.

"The contemporary Republican Party, all things considered, may be the most angry, reckless, irresponsible, destructive, fanatical, and know-nothing “mainstream” political organization in the history of the United States. It wages relentless and punitive class warfare against the poor, who are by definition responsible for their condition and seek to live the good life on federal welfare. In its unquenchable hatred of government, it shuts down the national government, threatens the full faith and credit of the country, and inflicts additional damage on an already anemic economy and thus on millions of American lives. A minority entity, it seeks to impose its political will to power on the country through any means available, including the deliberate disenfranchisement of select segments of citizens, especially based on race. It will pursue any and all of its goals based on sheer ideological insistence indifferent to facts, knowledge, history, or scientific evidence. That said, the GOP is a passionate political party that takes its vocation seriously." Steven Johnston The Contemporary Condition: A little respect for the GOP, please

If the American people have rock solid proof that a candidate lied repeatedly in order to win an election (a closely won election) then I believe that should be grounds for impeachment. If the truth about Obamacare and the real unemployment numbers were known Obama would have lost big time. He lied, the government lied, and he got reelected and for those of you that are all a flutter over President Hilary you can forget it because when she has an opponent her lies will surface as well.

I truly don't know why liberals have accepted this kind of behavior but you have.
Liberals of the 70's were deeply concerned about the federal government spying on the American people today's liberal is not.

Yesterdays liberal would be appalled at the use of drones but today's liberal is not.

Yesterdays liberal would be terrified at an IRS that is lead by the nose by the current occupant of the Oval Office but today's liberal is silent.

Yesterdays liberal would be storming the White House if the President lied about their healthcare and taxes but today's liberal is blind to it.

Yesterdays liberal would be angered to no end to discover that the IRS and other federal agencies have lost, misplaced or stolen hundreds of millions of dollars but today's liberal is totally uncaring about the lost money and the national debt.

The Tea Party deeply cares and is worried about all of these things but the Tea Party is somehow blamed. False accusations also used to concern good liberals but maybe today's liberal is.....not so good.

The president can be impeached for 'high crimes and misdemeanors.' Lying is only a crime if done under oath.

Right now Obama is a major detriment to the democrats, he is typhoid Mary, spreading destruction wherever he goes.

Why would anyone want to interfere with his utter destruction of the dims?

The president can be impeached for 'high crimes and misdemeanors.' Lying is only a crime if done under oath.

Demeanor means "behavior."

Misdemeanor means "bad behavior."

The Constitution was written so that officials could be impeached merely for general bad acts. It was intended to be a political process. Obama CAN be impeached simply for being an asshole.

But impeachment at this point would be counter-productive.

Obama is the greatest weapon the Republicans have against the democrats. They would be fools to squander it.

(Which means they probably will..)

Bush....Iraq....WMD's.....

Enough said.

If you want to impeach bush for that you also will need to impeach both clintons, ted kennedy, gore, kerry, lieberman, the UN, Tony Blair, the EU, the king of Spain, the king of Saudi Arabia, and just about every other head of state or member of congress or parliament.

They all said the same thing about Saddam and WMDs. ALL OF THEM.

No I wouldn't. The film was actually about what a Cheney Presidency would be like. President Bush was assassinated in the opening minutes of the British film.

Is it an oozing of unbridled ignorance or just echo-parroting?
