Infrastructure Questions

It will pay for itself.

You actually believer your own bullshit.

Corporate America cannot survive without modern infrastructure
Empty platitudes are empty.
Its a fact
Corporations cannot function without modern infrastructure.
They make a profit off of our infrastructure in roads, rails and ports

That is why this bill raises Corporate taxes to their previous levels
Platitudinous crap, that still doesn't address the point that this bullshit money and power grab will come nowhere near "paying for itself"....You freaks would be nowhere if you couldn't tell yourselves and actually believe lies like that.

I would think the people who keep wanting these big federal road projects would have learned from the fiasco that was the big dig in Boston.

How about the Interstate Highway System?
How about it?

The 500 billion collected in federal gas taxes over the past decade were supposed to be spent for upkeep of the federal interstate highway system and it obviously hasn't been

Do you agree we need to upgrade our infrastructure?

Should we pay for it or simply put the bill on the debt?

If we pay for it, how should we do that?
2% Federal Tax on all purchased NEW goods. Is how I would do it.
we already pay for it with sales tax and property tax,,
On a state level not federal.

Federal project = Federal Taxes
state roads and bridges are not federal projects,, and interstate highways are paid for through gas taxs and turned over to each state for maintenance,,
This needs to be done differently IMO. Federal monies have been given to states before....see Big Dig in Boston...hell I lived it.

It's a fact that trucking companies pay far more in taxes that are supposed to be earmarked for roads than you do.

Right...we can respectfully disagree unlike leftists who scream and call you racist for disagreeing

LMAO less than 6% of Biden's bill is being spent on roads and bridges. Hell less than half of the $2T (only $750B) can be even loosely defined as infrastructure. People this is Dem PORK.

its not a federal issue,,
each state is responsible for their own infrastructure,,
According to conservitards the federal government exists to give them guns a stop abortions. Nothing else.
You forgot "Protect our Borders" which they are enjoying and epic failure a as we speak

The problem with many folks, is they do not understand the Department of Transportation's role in the system, nor do they understand the role of Baseline budgeting in the Federal Budget.

Why has it not produced the results what we have expected it too? It was supposed to keep up with inflation, and keep our infrastructure in good shape.

Why even have baseline budgeting and have a DoT if it does not do it's job?

Is it corruption? Is it the Federal Reserve devaluing the purchasing power quicker that the CBO estimates the cost of inflation? Whatever the problem. .. . this is a scam.

Supposedly, the taxpayer is socked with tax increases every year which goes towards infrastructure, every damn year, so where are the results?

When the right tries to reform the system, they are rebuked.

This type of Budgeting was introduced during the Clinton Admin. to be automatic, and although the right has tried to repeal it, it has always been shot down in committee.

We had two POVs in a short thread here;

Very intelligent points.
Much better than this current thread.

This monstrous travesty of a bill goes far beyond baseline budgeting....It's an immense spending spree that has next to nothing to do with "infrastructure" and far more to do with purposefully collapsing the system.

No...a progtard

Funny how for some reason state and federal taxes paid at the pump never seem to go toward maintaining infrastructure. Mass transit taxes property owners and yet most if not all mass transit systems don’t break even. Local taxes passed in the name of education and school infrastructure maintenance never seem to cure budget deficiencies. So what else is new? Cronyism is the lubricant of government.

The was one of the featured articles at Patrick Wood's Technocracy News & Trends

There is a much more sinister agenda behind it all. . . . control.
