“It’s never been done that I know of with regard to federal election law, which is quite a specific area of law,” Vance said. “But I think the question is not so much why didn’t I do it or we did it, but why this district attorney is doing it.”

“And that really requires us to be patient and to wait. This process isn’t going to be accelerated by us talking about it.”

Evidently in NY, one misdemeanor plus a related misdemeanor equals a felony. So commit the first one, cover it up with a second one, and it's a felony.

Try reading the only NY Penal Law cited in the indictment, 175.10. It clearly states to be guilty in the first degree, one must first be guilty in the second degree. Since there are no charges in the second degree, how can you move forward for the first degree? The whole thing is a farce.
