So tell us what "contributions" are you alluding to? The money his own attorney paid to Stormy Daniels? How is that a "contribution"?
It's called an "In Kind Contribution" and is legal, as long as the reported to/and by the campaign on their filings with the FEC.
When actions are taken to benefit a campaign they have to be reported to/and by the campaign and cannot exceed the limit of $2,700. Therefore the $130,000 Cohen paid to keep the porn start from telling her story (again) in the media was paid to prevent negative information about the candidate being broadcast over the airwaves, cable, and internet.
It was one of the crimes Cohen was convicted of in Federal court.
Even Cohen himself said he paid it without consulting Trump first.
Early on yes. He was still trying to adhire to the coverup. But once presented with the evidence that the United States Attorney General had for charging and he knew that the scheme couldn't be buried anymore he voluntarily turned over evidence.
We know that Cohen recorded phone conversations. One was released concerning Trumps involvement with the Karen McDougal hidden payments, you think that Cohen only ever recorded 1 phone call to cover his ass? Cohen was Trumps fixer, and the recording shows Cohen likes to have insurance. I think it is highly probably that additional taped calls involving Daniels have been turned over the the Prosecution.
