For reasons of economy. Wind and solar are now the least costly sources of generation.America is 'supposed' to be self sufficient on oil and some even try to claim on 'fossil fuels' too. My guess is you're trying to say that electricity is generated by fossil fuels in America. Most modern countries don't.
