I do not believe men and women are or can be equal in every way. They have different gifts, personalities, and traits. Our society has gone downhill since the 1960s when the effort was started to make the sexes alike. Family life was better in the 1950s.
Perhaps this is not the country for you if you think so little of it

Slavery at that time was different from the colonial slavery we know today. Slavery has had many meanings. Leftwingers call employment at Walmart "slavery".
It is always very sad to see how Christians have to stoop to actually defending slavery to justify the blind faith they have in a book.

There is no way around stating slavery is evil AND trusting the bible as perfect since it clearly condones slavery. This, more than any other apologetic excuse in existence, shows the utter folly of modern Christianity. There is no better way to create atheists than to point to slavery in the bible and let Christians talk.

We've discussed this. Biblical slavery is completely different from the colonial slavery of a few centuries ago.

Good answer. Pity it was not an answer to my question.

In the time of Jesus, following Torah, that was a fixed term form if indentured servitude. Not the same as slavery of the conquered people. And while moral at the time, it no longer is.
ONLY for Jews and ONLY under certain circumstances. Should you want a permanent Jewish slave then give him a wife and he must either leave his wife and children at the end of service or become a permanent slave. You get more slaves either way.

People that were not Jews were to be permanent slaves period and they were also inherited by your sons so even in the death of the owner they remained slaves.

No, you asserted that.

And it is a lie. One apologetics clings to like a life raft. Unfortunately it is a rock. As pointed out, slavery was both permanent and inheritable for everyone but the Jews.

It was even racist slavery. There are virtually no differences whatsoever.
