It's time to start thinking about resistance.

The "promote the general welfare" section is an explanation for why the American people and the individual states were granting the federal government those specific, enumerated powers. It was not a power in itself.
Actually, what I've read about promoting the general welfare mostly had to do with the collecting of taxes. But I'm choosing to interpret it as also encompassing healthcare in this modern age. Just as you choose to believe that Militias means every citizen, when it clearly does not.

And what about all of the people who either lost their jobs flat out or had their hours cut because of it?
What about the law directly caused any people to lose their jobs?
Obamacare was too costly for many businesses (especially small to medium businesses). The law said that anyone working (30 hours a week or more?) had to be covered. So many businesses were forced to either eliminate emoloyees or cut the hours of their employees.

And it doesn't "cost" anything for them to vote.
Your ignorance is astounding, though expected.

It costs a lot of money for each bill to be brought to the House. Staffers, aides, printing, etc.
Printing? No...really....printing? Bwahahahahahah!!! In this day and age of technology the bills are all crafted and shared electronically junior.

And staffers? Double bwahahahahahah!!! Those people are already on staff whether they vote to repeal Obamacare to restore constitutional government or vote to pass another mind-numbing liberal regulation just for the sake of passing legislation.

And aides? Triple bwahahahahahah!!! Those people are already on staff whether they vote to repeal Obamacare to restore constitutional government or vote to pass another mind-numbing liberal regulation just for the sake of passing legislation.

So again - there is absolutely no cost to them trying to repeal Obamacare above and beyond the costs that already exist. Man alive - how desperate are you to grasp at some straws to cry about "costs" out of your fear of this unconstitutional crap sandwich being repealed? That was really humiliating. I'm literally cringing for you.
So, when a few years ago the CBO concluded that the 50+ repeal attempts had cost over $50 million they were lying?

And they were so skilled at this lie, no one was able to refute it?

Well...I have to salute you for being honest (that's refreshing from the left). But just so you know - I don't "interpret" the U.S. Constitution. I do exactly as Thomas Jefferson said - accept it exactly as it is written.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

It does not say "the right of the militia". It clearly states the right of the people.

That $50 million gets spent whether they vote on nonsensical liberal legislation or vote to repeal the unconstitutional Obamacare. You can attempt to twist it any way you want but there wasn't any additional cost. They are paid to legislate and that's exactly what they were doing. They properly chose to focus on repealing Obamacare.

By your "logic" it cost over a hundred million dollars to pass Obamacare. Do you have any idea how long that took, how much travel for the illegal wheeling and dealing (like the "Louisana Purchase" and the "Cornhusker Kickback"), and how many different versions and revised versions of that nightmare?!?

But that's a false narrative that I won't resort to. Although unconstitutional - the fact that all of those people were engaging in, discussing, and voting on legislation is their job and there were no additional costs as a result of it. Had they not been working on Obamcare, they would have been working on something else (and all of those Congressional salaries, aides, interns, and "printed pages" would have still existed - just for something else).

Obamacare didn't cost businesses a cent. Insurance companies jacking rates cost businesses.

But they don't get any of your ire. Why is that?

Wait....I thought the entire point of Obamacare was that it was going to lower healthcare costs? So you're now admitting that it was an epic failure? That it in fact caused healthcare costs to skyrocket? :eusa_dance:

No.

What proof do you have that it caused healthcare to skyrocket? As opposed to insurance co. just jacking the rates because they can?

Because insurance companies didn't mandate anything - Obamacare did. Insurance companies didn't force anything on to other businesses - Obamacare did.

You do realize the harder you work to support this unconstitutional and failed legislation, the deeper hole you dig for yourself, don't you?

Companies operate in the free-market. They have zero power over me or anyone else. Zero. And the insurance companies sure as hell didn't violate the U.S. Constitution. It was the Dumbocrats that broke the law and forced people/companies/etc. into something when they had no power to force them.

It's hilarious (in that tragic sort of way) that you want to lay all of the blame for everything at the feet of corporate America when they aren't the one's holding the guns. They aren't the one's violating the U.S. Constitution. And they sure as hell aren't the one's creating the failed legislation. Corporate America has no power over you my friend. They offer goods or services. You can choose to purchase those goods or services or you can choose not too. You have all the power - so stop playing the victim and blaming them for your life. It's the government holding all of the guns, engaging in all of the coercion, and preventing choice.

The proof is that it costs everyone more now for their coverage than it did before Obamacare. And Obama lied to the American people and "guaranteed" it would do the opposite. In fact - he insisted that he had no choice but to enact it because the government couldn't afford Medicare and Medicaid going forward.

You do realize the harder you work to support this unconstitutional and failed legislation
It's not only been ruled Constitutional, it's been a success.

NYT: Immigrants And Low Wage Workers Benefiting The Most From Obamacare

Immigrants -- and specifically, Hispanic immigrants -- are among those benefiting the most from Obamacare, a New York Times analysis published Sunday said. The Times' report on the first full year of Affordable Care Act implementation found that low-wage workers also saw their uninsured rates decrease sharply, as did part-time workers and those with only high school degrees.

"The analysis shows how the law lifted some of the most vulnerable citizens," the Times reported.

Because insurance companies didn't mandate anything - Obamacare did. Insurance companies didn't force anything on to other businesses
But ONLY insurance companies set the prices - not Obamacare.

But they get a pass from you.
It was the Obamacare mandates that caused the prices to go up. That's a simple fact. That's why millions of policies were cancelled. Because they didn't meet the minimum mandates. Well guess what? What products and services increase (as mandated unconstitutionally by the government), so do prices.

So the real question is - why does the government, engaging in highly illegal activity - get a pass from you? And....why do you blame private industry for all of your problems when they hold absolutely, positively no power over you. But the government does and you worship them.

It's not a "success". You can post a radical left-wing article celebrating tens of thousands of people all you want. At the end of the day, tens of millions of American's either lost their coverage, lost their job, or had their hours cut. It has been a spectacular failure.

And it doesn't matter that a Supreme Court stacked with political activist instead of justices ruled it "constitutional". One only read the U.S. Constitution to comprehend things:
  1. The federal government is strictly limited to 18 enumerated powers. Healthcare is not one of those powers. Cut & Dry. Black & White. So simple, only a liberal could be confused by it.
  2. The federal government has zero authority in the U.S. Constitution to force the American people to purchase a good or service. That power simply does not exist.
Nobody can deny #1 or #2 above. Not you. Not Obama. Those are the cold hard facts - and they are indisputable. And then there is this little gem: Barack Obama insisted over and over and over in front of the American people that this was not a tax. When the bill was challenged before the Supreme Court, both #1 and #2 above were the arguments for why this was unconstitutional. So what did Barack Obama and his administration do? They then reversed course and said "wait...this is a tax...and the Constitution grants us the power to lay and collect taxes". So Obama either egregiously lied to the American people over and over and over, or he committed perjury before the Supreme Court by lying to them. But wait! It gets better! (I feel like an infomercial). Even if this was a "tax" (and it's not - that is the most absurd argument ever put before the American people as a tax is something used to finance the 18 enumerated powers of the federal government - a tax is not a new regulation and unconstitutional power) - all revenue bills must be generated by the House of Representatives per the U.S. Constitution. But the Obamacare bill ultimately passed and signed into law was generated in the Senate. So no matter how many lies Obama comes up with, it is still the most illegal, unconstitutional legislation ever created in U.S. history.

You do realize that every time you point to the Supreme Court ruling you are simply proving just how illegal this bill was, don't you?

Why do you instist on continuously parading your ignorance on the Constitution? :dunno:

There's no tyranny, ya flamin' moron. Unlike 1776, everyone now has elected representation in the government which can be voted out by "the people."

As long as you have enough Super Delegates, that is...
Super delegates are the party's insurance against a rebellious electorate.

SuperDelegates is blatant "voter disenfranchisement".. Those that SCREAM the loudest are usually guilty of it themselves...
No, it is not disenfranchisment. The two major parties which employ super delegates are private organizations which establish and enforce their own rules. Super delegates are in place to make sure the rank and file members (i.e., the electorate) can't easily hijack the party and nominate a candidate who could wreck the party. Much like Trump is positioning to do now.

That's Bullshit. SGT SCHULTZ decides on SuperDelegates within the Dem party to ENFORCE the "establishment" choice. That's how all the SuperDelegates start out as being Hildebeast supporters. It is a completely BIASED selection process.

Is wittle Bernie Sanders a danger to your party? Scared that if he gets delegates apportioned by THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE --- that will "hijack" Sgt Schultz job???

This is probably the dumbest argument I have seen so far on this subject. All of the answers needed to refute this are part of the argument. All that's needed is 5 minutes and some critical thinking skills.

Hint:

The parties are the " establishment". Therefore shouldn't they and their delegates then by default support the establishment candidate? Of course it's a biased selection process. Why would a party want a nominee that the party doesn't support to lead the party and their brand?
This is the way it has always been.

How do you people become adults and are probably 50+ years old without understanding this until now?
