There is no provision in either the Constitution or in 18USC15 for "alternate electors".

If there is an objection, and the objection is sustained by BOTH chambers of Congress, that just means those votes are not counted.

Let's say for example that SC has an objection that is sustained, that means SC 9 EC votes are not counted. What what could happen is:

• With the EC Votes excluded, one person still gets the required 270 total votes. That person is declared the winner.
• If however, neither candidate gets the required EC votes, then the vote goes to the House to select the President from the top 3 candidates receiving EC votes, and to the Senate to choose the Vice President from the top 2 candidates receiving EC votes. Per the 12th Amendment.

"Alternative" (or party fake electors) are not part of the process.

The State didn't create "alternate electors". The State Executive Authority (either the Governor or the Secretary of State) certified only ONE slate of EC Electors to send to Congress.

The "alternate" (fake) electors were done by the party, not the state. Although they lied on the paperwork to imply they were official when they were not.

Back in 1960 there were two slates of electors that were selected because it was Hawaii's first voting year as a State and it was done under court supervision while the court finalized supervising the recount. But that situation was resolved BEFORE Congress met to count the votes so there was only a SINGLE slate of electors from Hawaii.

The state certifies one slate of electors and that is sent to Congress. Then the Congress, if an objection is made under 18USC15, and the objection is accepted. Those votes simply are not counted, they do not revert to an alternate slate selected by the Party.
