The DOJ ultimately reports to Merrick Garland, the Attorney General. The DOJ never goes to the president and does not report to the president. If any contact has to be made with the president by the DOJ on a case they are working on, for some strange and weird reason, then the DOJ prosecutors will go to Garland and Garland will make an appointment to meet with the president.

Then why are they petitioning the DOJ to give them those documents in court?He gets an inventory list of what was taken by the FBI....
Which could give us more insight.
Trump's lawyer said they got 12 more cases of records etc, that they seized....he has a list the FBI gave them.

The idea that tmw DOJ would raid a former presidents house in the middle of the night and not give the current President a heads up before it happens is laughableit was not his DOJ, there is a separation of power....with all presidents, unless directly involved.
Trump broke that separation and believed the DOJ were his personal lawyers to do what he pleased! Thank God he is gone!

So why doesn't he? If he feels he's been wronged, he can release the warrant and then everyone can get as outraged as they wish.

What's being petitioned is ....the search warrant, describing what the FBI was searching for, and what rooms or safe or file cabinets or storage closets they expect to find these documents in, and why they needed to seize these documents etc....
They give them the portion of the search warrant that goes to the person being searched.... It leaves out some stuff, that is always left out...like how the investigators got their information....The fbi didn't give them the warrant.
some of the info, the person being searched will never know, unless they are charged with a crime, then they would get access thru discovery.
