It strikes me that Thomas is still butthurt over all things Anita Hill.

And to be fair, what the Senate did to him with Anita Hill was pretty reprehensible.

I don't believe her, and I think that it was a low blow to give her gossip credibility because they couldn't build up public concensus on the real reason this guy shouldn't have been confirmed, his lack of qualifications.

That said, the fact he hasn't gotten over it 23 years later says a lot.

Thomas is a brilliant legal mind.

He was highly qualified. If he wasn't he never would have had to be trashed by Democrats. They would have just disapproved his nomination. BTW, Joe Biden was the chair for that high-tech lynching.

Justice Clarence Thomas has some pretty strange perspectives. It's ridiculous that he makes this kind of hyperbolic statement. Either he is completely unaware of the south during the time of Jim Crow or he's doing this to gain favor with the Tea Party Crowd.

In either case, it also puts on display why he seriously should not be on the Supreme Court.

That and some pretty troubling conflict of interest issues.

He's also not really a serious legal scholar and is pretty rote in his judgements.

You should ask yourself why you think that Justice Thomas has to prove himself by writing some brilliant legal opinions. Especially, when you consider an opinion brilliant, only when you agree with the finding.

His whole time on the federal bench was two years. He never tried a case in court. He was simply a party loyalist who was only nominated for a lack of judicial record for the Democrats to scrutinize.

And I agree, what Biden allowed to happen was reprehensible. The Senate came off looking worse for the experience.
