Liberals, how do you feel about anti-pitbull legislation?

Shall we kill the pitbulls? They're vicious hate machines. I mean, look at this one, he's coming for you right now.

[Oh my god, he's so fucking cute!]

So please explain how you feel about this. Why is it okay for the government to kill the puppies?
A lion or bear cub is cute too but when it gets older, look out.

Don't kill any dog. Just spade or neuter every pit bull. In 15 years problem solved. Very simple.

Why? Most are not dangerous.

I was in NYC one summer and found myself in mid-town Manhattan during the Puerto Rico Day parade. The sidewalks were packed shoulder to shoulder. All I wanted to do was walk two blocks south where a friend was waiting to meet me.

There was a zipper head with a pit bull on a twelve inch leash and choker collar. He held this dog like a buzz saw, cutting through the crowd as the dog lurched forward biting and snarling. The crowd parted before him like the Red Sea parting before Moses. Anyone not yielding to his dog risked real physical harm. It was one of the most irresponsible behaviors of man and beast I ever saw.

But following the idiot and his dog made my two block walk a lot easier!

And this is why we need to destroy them. They are dangerous, they are menacing, and there is no reason you need to have one. Children are hurt all the time by pit bulls!

I am for destroying the owners that abuse them and teach them to be dangerous, whether it is intentional or not.

As far as the example cited? Again we need to destroy the owners, not the dog.

Any breed of dog can be trained to do what that dog did.

And again, it is not the breed it is the owner. Cesar Millan proved this long ago...

It's not the breed? Then why doesn't the record of dog attacks show an even distribution across all breeds?

Why don't we have as many children mangled by Bassett Hounds as we do Pit Bulls?

Too aggressive, unpredictable and dangerous. Cons outweigh the pros. Because we the majority don't like them

And remember, it isn't mean to fix all pitbulls. We fix dogs all the time. It isn't like we are wiping out wolves or bear. I would object to that.

Fact is there are no wild pitbulls. They were invented by us. Maybe mexico or Germany will continue to produce them but not here in the USA.

People pack pit bulls as they do weapons. Responsible dog owners are aware that any breed might become aggressive and violent. There may be a day that even my dog will become aggressive even though she is at present, the most charming dog on earth. But those who seek out the pit bull too often do so with the intent of weaponizing the animal.

The dogs that did this were once cute puppies too.
Police: No charges expected in child's dog mauling death

Kill them! Destroy them! Is there nobody out there who will support banning and destroying all pitbulls?

If you knew this sweet little boy and his parents as I do,you would feel differently. At least you would if you had any humanity.

I wouldn't blame an entire breed and want them erradicated.

I bet dog breeders can easily take the aggressive gene out of the pitbull.

If there was more control and responsible breeding yes - but you have these dogs marketed as "tough", big heads, brimstone and fire emblems, tough family protectors walked on logging chains so right off the bat, you're attracting the wrong type of people and breeding for the wrong things. Pitbulls used to be the all around family dog and most still are.

Ya...when I see someone walking his straining (untrained) Pit on a logging chain all I think of is "penile support system".

There is no need for this breed.

It's amazing how often leftists use this anti-freedom argument whereby everyone has to prove a need for something before the leftists will allow them to have it.

I was actually waiting for this "need" argument to pop up as soon as I read the OP, and I was not disappointed.

Do you people have any idea what country you live in and why it came to be?

Every time a liberal asks you to prove you need something, ask them to prove they need midget porn, and tell them that if they can't prove it, it should be banned.

"But...but...but..."

There's no such thing as a bad dog. Just shitty human "owners."
This chocolate lab was jumping as I walked towards the fence. I asked if he bites she said no. I put my hand out for him to smell he nipped my hand.

Let me give you another example. My friend has this dog it looks like a coyote. Or my old beagle. They would sometimes fight other dogs or kill muskrats groundhogs and woodchucks. These animals are barely tame. They can turn on the killer instinct you never know. And we're talking beagles.

We don't need pitbulls..
^ Obviously a fucking cat person :cheeky-smiley-018:
I loved my beagle, Benji like terrior, German Sheppard dogs. I just don't see what reason we should continue breeding pitbulls other than the people who seem to have hard ons over them.

I get it. I love labs. If you said stop breeding labs I wouldn't like that. But labs aren't pitbulls now are they?

Many pitbulls are a bit like labs.

One of my favorite breeds is the German Shepherd - but there's a l of bad breeding due to popularity and worse, people who don't socialize and train their young dogs the way that breed needs to be - as a result, the Shepherd is 3rd in the rankings of dangerous dogs. Should we stop breeding Shepherds? I wouldn't like that. I like shepherds, not labs. (no offense but they just aren't my choice ;) )

What agitates me is the sheer number of people, groups and Web sites that defend Pit Bulls from those who would criticize and legislate against them.

I will now go to another screen and Google “pit bull attacks.” Limiting myself to the last five days—a full week would bring too many hits—I see that a 65-year-old woman died of heart failure during a Pit Bull attack in South Carolina, that two Pit Bulls “invaded a home” and killed a dog in Colorado, that a Pit Bull “chewed up” a Yorkie in Missouri, a golden retriever was severely injured by a Pit Bull in Indiana, and that two Indianapolis police officers were bitten by Pit Bulls on successive days.

Statistics show that Pit Bulls are by far the most dangerous breed of dogs, involved in several attacks on people and animals in the U.S. each day.

Show me the statistics of how many people are attacked by german sheppards every day.

Keep in mind I don't like the law that says if a dog bites it must be put down. That's bullshit. So I clearly love dogs. I just don't want pitbulls made anymore.

Alcohol is legal, right? Then why are politicians outlawing powdered alcohol?

Michigan Senate moves to ban powdered alcohol in Michigan

I have seen more Chihuahuas bite people than any other dog.

Seriously. Most little dogs are assholes.

We should fix all felons black or white. I agree. They shouldn't breed either.

The wimpiest dog I ever knew was a pit bull.

If you ban pit bulls, the assholes who make dogs into killers will just choose another breed to take home and make mean.

No, no, no. You said "Get Rid of Pit Bulls". You want to entirely eliminate the whole breed based on statistics.

So by your same TardLogic™, we should "Get Rid of Blacks".

Because a lot of other factors go into what is reported. Attacks by smaller dogs don't tend to be reported or require hospitalization. The popularity and abundence of a breed in an area. Breed idenfitication (many times a dog identified as a a breed isn't). Children are often the worst injured and in the face due to their height, more fragile skin and bodies.

According to this source, the breeds that bite the most in the Denver area:
Based on 6,500 reported dog bites between 2012 and 2013, the top five biting breeds* in the Denver area are: Dog breeds that bite the most along the Front Range
  1. Labs
  2. German Shepherds
  3. Pit Bulls
  4. Chihuahuas
  5. Bulldogs
*Breeds in these cases are not official, and in most cases, the dog was identified by either a victim or animal-control officers. Breed identification is often subjective.*

I've had dogs, quite a few, for many years. Anyone who claims this is all about owners, or mostly about owners, is out of their mind.
