Only via impeachment. Marion Barry was convicted, served time, and was still re-elected.

Felony convictions don't make you ineligible for elected office at the federal level, and probably at most State levels.

It's done intentionally to prevent people in power from convicting opponents on trumped (ironic) up charges to eliminate them from running for office.
