Come on down to the Still Republican run state of Florida where only a pocket full of lunatic lefties live. The rest of the State, that doesn't tax your income and has pretty low gasoline prices welcomes law abiding citizens with open arms. Unless you want reside in those liberal pockets of idiocy....

I cannot believe people would not vote to increase homestead exemption. I think the election was rigged.

It was run on, the scam that if more exemptions were increased then teacher pay and schools would lose out money. That and the prop 3 where voters now have the right to say NO to gambling casinos, again that was supposed to fund schools but never does....

many many many moons ago, when I lived there, the state passed LOTTO, supposedly to pay for schools and teachers.... are they still using teachers and schools as the excuse for other things like casinos????

Actually, there was a referendum on that last time. Now the voters get to decide about gambling. Lotto is still state. The payouts and what the schools get are less, but the state gets more.

The property taxes here are fair, and with more people moving in year after year, the schools arent doing bad with income, but the liberals in charge are spending on stuff that is just wasteful..

That happened in Maryland, and Virginia also, those wraskly Democrats see extra money so like the Social Security lockbox, rob from it to pay off illegals in their sanctuary cities so then they get the vote later on...The Maryland Lotto also was for the sports authority thus giving Dan Snider(owner of the Redskins) payment for empty seats if the stadium, isnt full. Cronie Capitalism with corporate welfare.

Get rid of all the anchor babies in the United States, classroom would be down to 20 children instead of 30 or more, and resources for class, would be readily available, in stead of sucked up by those illegals....

They just got 1/2 cent on the dollar for road improvement. They won't do it. The fastest road upgrade here was

S.R. 60. It was done right and in under 2 years. (By FDOT)

This county? They got perpetual construction going on on I-75 at the north end of town. 12 years running..

Grifters. They promised a lot of stuff with that increase.

Near me a dog race/Poker palace is closed, looks that way for a few years, because the area it was put in, didnt do very well, as the gambling created even more POOR along with Obama's 8 years. Now the area is booming again, more shops are opening, people are very happy, that a Socialist didnt get elected....

We're now paying 9 cents, and they voted to close dog tracks.. grr!

WOW! Our sales tax is only 5%, though for a 3 year period only, to pay for something, of which I can't remember, it was raised to 5.5%.... but we have an income tax.... Matt and I are poor, (compared to what we used to make, before coming to Maine, especially now that I don't work too), so we pay just a small amount in income tax..... but the property taxes up here.... are HIGH compared to yours in Florida, and low, compared to what they were in Massachusetts....

When I lived there, Tampa's sales tax was lower than St. Pete's!! I don't remember but it was something like a 5% sales tax in Tampa, and a 6% sales tax in St Pete....
