Maybe I'm beginning to understand this Trump thing

You just equated Trump to a terrorist. American hating, out to destroy America, terrorist. On independence day no less.

Good catch, Sparky.

That is the same mindset.
Yeah, it's the same mindset that Mac1958 criticizes daily on this forum as he claims dominion over his spot at the top of the hill in the middle of the road. :rolleyes-41:

Moderates are necessary for political process. Otherwise, all you have are two extremes fighting for absolute victory. Governance by whiplash as we swing back from one extreme to another.

Moderates decide every presidential election, or, to be precise, moderates decide who wins the popular vote.

Where the moderates vote directly correlates to how the candidates finish.

So if both parties have gone more extreme.....?

A plurality of American voters identify themselves as Moderates. In reality Moderates as a whole are left of center, but they are the swing vote. A Democrat has to win the Moderates by at least 10 points to win the popular vote.

That formula shows up in every election we have exit polls of.

You may consider the Dems extreme, but they are not crazy.....(referencing Benedict Donald).

Both sides have their crazies.

The Dems, however it happened, avoided their "extreme" candidate (Sanders) and the Republicans, somehow, ended up with theirs.

So Trump supporters cheer the idea that Trump's biggest accomplishment has been to piss off Democrats.

Are these the same people who believed that Obama was despicable for being what they thought was a 'divider'?

Everyone know that Repubs hated Obama because he was a "Darkie."

Make America Great Again actually means, Make America White Again.

By "everyone", does that mean your pockets a filled with turds?

You're so full of horseshit that I have to hold my nose to read your comments.

Your totally bat shit crazy and a rabid racist.

There's an element of truth. It may not be universally true of Republicans, but there's a sizable segment.

Which is better? A government uncontrolled by any law, or to burn it down?
Okay, there ya go, I think that's a pretty common opinion.
Really? I don't think so. I think many Americans think we need more government.
No, I mean a common opinion among Trump supporters.
.
I think we need government but the RIGHT kind, with the RIGHT priorities.
Not possible.

Here are the numbers - off the top of my head - showing the correlation:

2004 - Kerry wins Moderate vote by 9 points - narrowly loses the election
2008 - Obama wins Moderate vote by 20 points - beats McCain by 7 points
2012 - Obama wins Moderate vote by about 15 points - beats Romney, but by narrower margin
2016 - Clinton wins Moderate vote by 11 points - just beats Trump in the popular vote.

Remarkable correlation.

but there's a sizable segment.

Nope, probably a minute minority. There are racist fools in every segment of life. Even in the Loony Left. Jim is a prime example. For his comment it's quite possible that Jimmy boy hates Trump primarily because he's white.

Yes it is. National Socialist Germany was one such nation.

After a LOT of observation and asking a LOT of questions, I've settled on one specific theory as to why Trump's fans have watched and cheered as he has done what he has done to the office of President of the United States: This is one, final, loud, angry primal scream, an historic vent, based on years of pent-up and growing frustration, a guy screaming FUCK YOU to his enemies as he blows up a building with he and his enemies in it.

They've said it themselves: They really DO NOT CARE what he does while in office, because a higher priority for them is pissing off their enemies. How many times have you seen that said on this forum? They've said it over and over. They're gonna hurt their enemies, even if it means real destruction to everything else. Kind of an over-the-top, hopeless, radical chemotherapy treatment for a terminal cancer patient.

Trump's is the first "Fuck it, blow it up, I don't give a shit" presidency. They've been made angrier and angrier by people who have a vested professional interest in fanning the flames, and I also think they realize they let it all get away from them, and now it's just too late. So, fuck it. Blow it up. Then let it burn.

So Trump is their last, loud gasp, their final FUCK YOU, and they're gonna cheer as the building goes up in flames.
.
You should try putting that much energy into fixing your broken ass party rather that trolling the right.

Where is your proof?
Because here is mine: "moderates" in 2017 poll 34% DOWN from 43%
Plus there are millions of "moderates" who voted for Trump because of the secrecy behind the curtain... but in polls, conversations like I've had with some ignorant relatives it was better NOT to say you were for Trump because of the emotional outburst by the irrational anti-Trump crowd.
Proof of that?
We had found hidden Trump supporters, but we did not expect them to swing the election. After all, these respondents were unwilling to directly express their support for Mr. Trump and were the most likely to indicate that if both candidates had flaws, it was better not to vote. But vote they did. This seems the most plausible explanation for why the near unanimous predictions of a Clinton victory proved wrong.
Opinion | Did Moderates Help Elect Trump?

Since Gallup began routinely measuring Americans' political ideology in 1992, conservative identification has varied between 36% and 40%.
At the same time, there has been a clear increase in the percentage identifying as politically liberal, from 17% to 25%.
This has been accompanied by a corresponding decrease in the percentage identifying as "moderate," from 43% to 34%.

Moderates were consistently the most prevalent group from 1992 to 2002, before first yielding that designation to conservatives in 2003.
Within the long-term stability of conservatism, the percentage of Americans self-identifying as conservative jumped to 40% several times between 2003 and 2011,
but it has since returned to 36%.

I don't disagree that Trump acts like an immature teenage girl sometimes. Having said that this thread does nothing to further your cause or agenda. Your only hope lies with the Democrat party so you better get busy....

Or keep trolling, your call

I'm in my own little worst-case scenario: If he runs this into the ground, the regressives will be ready & waiting. The party won't have to go through its badly-needed Reformation.

So there's more riding on this than you may think.

Have you noticed more and more a pressure to "choose a side"? I see it take a form of, when stating one position on one topic, people jump in and "surmise" your position on every other issue.
Oh, holy shit yeah. That shows you how binary our politics (and thought processes) have become. It's getting worse, and it's getting dangerous.

A hardcore partisan ideologue's biggest threat is not a hardcore partisan ideologue from the other side, they're easy. A hardcore partisan ideologue's biggest threat is someone who chooses to think for themselves.
.

I love people who think for themselves.

Naw

The person with the best message will win and right now the left have no message. Our elections are like a seesaw. Always have been, always will be.

You're also way off the mark anyways.

Trump didn't win because of his die hard supporters. He won because DEMOCRATS in battle ground states flipped sides. They flipped sides for a reason. The same reason I pointed out to you in my first post in this thread.
