The all but abandoned concept of America is that it is a huge melting pot where all sorts of different people of different backgrounds, races, religions, etc come together and blend all of those differences into one in which we embrace the culture and history of the United States as well as ADD to it.

Yeah, the reality is there is a group inside the United States who want to tear down / destroy our history, our culture, our faith, and everything that reminds us of them...to impose THEIR desires on America / Americans instead of embracing our culture and past and build upon them.

Trump Administration Urges Supreme Court To Protect Cross-Shaped War Memorial

"The Trump administration filed an amicus (or “friend of the court”) brief Wednesday urging the Supreme Court to protect a 93-year-old war memorial in Bladensburg, Maryland, that is shaped like a Latin cross.

The court will soon decide whether the cross-shaped World War I memorial violates the First Amendment’s ban on religious favoritism.

The justices
agreed to take the case on Nov. 3.

“Cases like these cannot help but divide those with sincerely held beliefs on both sides,” the brief reads. “This case presents an opportunity for the Court to adopt a standard for establishment clause challenges to passive displays that will reduce factious litigation, provide clarity to lower courts, and promote consistency across cases.”

The administration then offers a solution to that problem: It urges the justices to resolve public display cases with reference to the practices of the founding fathers. The brief favorably cites the high court’s approach to a 2014 case called Town of Greece v. Galloway. In that case, a five-justice majority said the town board of Greece, New York, did not violate the Constitution by opening monthly public meetings with a prayer.

“While the Latin cross may generally serve as a symbol of death and memorialization, it only holds value as a symbol of death and resurrection because of its affiliation with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ,”
the decision reads."

This reminds me of another story:

City of “Las Cruces” Sued To Remove 3 Crosses from Emblem

The person who filed the lawsuit demanding 'Los Cruces' ('The Crosses') moved to Los Cruces knowing the name of the city and what it meant. The lawyers/plaintiffs claimed they were was suddenly offended by the name of the city and demanded that the entire city and the citizens of Los Cruces agree to change the name of the city just for them.

“The crosses serve no governmental purpose other than to disenfranchise and discredit non-Christian citizens,” said plaintiffs, Paul F. Weinbaum and Martin J. Boyd, both Las Cruces area residents. The current lawsuit, however, is only part of a greater campaign launched principally by Weinbaum to expunge all symbols representing the area’s past Spanish Christian heritage. In 2003, Weinbaum filed a separate lawsuit with another Las Cruces resident, Jesse Chavez, against the Las Cruces Public Schools for using the three crosses on its vehicles and logos. So far that case has languished due to a backlog of other cases, and no trial date has been set."

In the end the case was decided in Los Cruces' favor - Weinbaum and boyd were told to go f* themselves.

"These cases are the type that preclude a mechanical rule.   Unequivocally, the City and District are currently displaying symbols and artwork that might be constitutionally suspect in some other American communities or in other contexts.   But, Las Cruces is the “City of Crosses” and the use of crosses as a symbol therein is not a religious statement.   As such, the City and District's religious symbols “are not minor trespasses upon the Establishment Clause to which [we] turn a blind eye.   Instead, their history, character, and context prevent them from being constitutional violations at all.”

FindLaw's United States Tenth Circuit case and opinions.

These were just 2 Liberal douche bags trying to tear down the culture of America by claiming that culture offended them.

I would like to remind them, and any other liberal douche bags out there, that in this country we have many rights - the right NOT to be offended is not one of them.

is this a dog whistle or are you stupid enough to believe that only whites determine what is culture and history here in the US?
Are you stupid, or did you simply just not read my 2nd post yet?

if we were diversified then the christians would be just as allowed to have their monuments w/o hassle as others are their own.

is this a dog whistle or are you stupid enough to believe that only whites determine what is culture and history here in the US?
so we count them out entirely and punish them for being white and destroy their monuments to their own past?

you can't in good faith ask for respect for your culture as you take a whiz on others.

Who said anything about counting whites out? I just said its retarded to pretend whites are the only people that built culture and history here in the US.

given that they do wish to tear down this cross, remove this ONE flag, rename this school, this street, tear down this statue...what is he saying that is incorrect?

Thats what he said not what I said.

That "group" as he so excludingly put it, are americans. America is about different cultures not traitors and losers. If you want a statue to a traitor in your yard that wanted to enslave other humans thats your business. It has no place in our culture. If a school wants to give honor to a more deserving american then thats their business. If youre worried about history thats what museums and history books are for.

if you're referring to this one cross monument, as i understand it, it was originally build on private land the gov "took over". so they started off as you say - putting it where it's their business.

it hurts no one where it is. leave it alone.

Not sure I care who originally owned the land and no I wasnt referring to that. However, now that its in government control and hence the peoples ownership we want to adhere to separation of church and state.

Its against american principles and a violation of the constitution. Tear it down.

we need to leave shit alone and quit getting offended cause it's todays rage.

What has this got to do with “melting pot”.?

No More Lemon Test

Just small examples of intolerance. On their own they don't add up to much but its happening all over the US here and there. And for Pete's sake... this is a 93 year old war memorial. It was not intended to be offensive but rather it was intended to honor the dead in a war that saw millions of soldiers die. The Melting pot has to do with accepting others' culture
