The genius of the Truman Fair Deal was it explicitly said there was no economic difference between the inner city and rural poor. Not to relitigate civil rights, Nixon, and BLM.

But what interests me is that the rust belt rural underemployed voters deserted the Obama coalition for Trump. Trump is an Alt-R dog whistle, but at least some of these folks voted for Obama TWICE. And once against a pretty decent human being in Mitt Romney, who is no racist. Yeah, Obama rang the Michael Brown BLM matter bell that did NOT play well with educated suburban white voters. But the voters rejected Obamacare as well. Why?

In 2020 we're not going to see a revival in Maytag washer mftring in Ohio. Donald Trump is not bringing back unions. LOL. There were no unions building his casinos or manning the craps tables. I'm no Obamacare fan, because I don't think mandating specific coverages people have to buy is the way to go, and I suspect that was what caused the underemployed white vote to shun Obamacare. But we both know, the gop is not going to propose financial assistance to people to buy HC. They tried that last year, and the Kochs reared up and Trump went AWOL.

Trump won the non college educated white vote by 40%, and republicans support him at around 85'% and about the same number think Obama is a muslim. Make of that what you will
