Here is an article that appeared on NPR in 2014, long before Trump entered politics. The Democratic Party is to blame for the ongoing crises at the border and, more importantly, the staggering amount of human death and suffering. The article mentions that smugglers brought 57 THOUSAND ''unaccompanied'' children into Texas alone in just an 8 month period.

If you truly cared about people, you would oppose the Democratic Party's insane and inhumane positions on immigration.

I should add, the 57,000 were just the ones they apprehended and that was just in Texas. God only knows how many others apprehended in other states or were running loose throughout the country. And God only knows how many were raped and murdered before they ever reached the U.S.

He's not going to get funding now. The Dems have had too much time to rile up the public with all the big bad BPA on the border nonsense. The Courts are not going to let him get away with taking money from the military to pay for it. He is not a King. When Congress says no, it means no.

That still isn't an "open borders" policy. Crossing the border shouldn't be a crime. And it's the crime being used as an excuse to separate families. The law says that children can be taken from criminal parents and Trump is using this law to take the children of people who cross the border illegally.

There are all kinds of laws to protect the borders. Being in the USA without documentation, working without a green card, and overstaying your visa illegal, as is hiring someone without a green card, are all illegal. There so many laws which make being an undocumented immigrant living and working in the USA illegal, that it isn't necessary to criminalize crossing the border.

But conservatives seize on every little thing as evidence that liberals favour "open borders", because, like every other liberal policy that conservatives oppose, the devil is in the details, and the reality can't be summed in a bumper sticker slogan. Besides which, conservatives lie about liberal policies because when people actual examine what's being proposed, it makes a lot of sense, and the programs work.

Republicans don't want programs to work. They do everything possible to undermine them, and burden them with excessive and unnecessary costs so they can scream about "big government", and they make programs so costly and inefficient, all in the name of "fraud protection", that the programs aren't effective. Public education being the post child for conservative meddling, and lies.
