Paul Ryan, aka 'Boehner's Mini-Me', Makes Conditional Demands

- 'F' Conservative Rating
- A Gutierez / Obama / liberal Favorite...
- FOR Open Borders, FOR Amnesty
- FOR Sanctuary Cities
- FOR abortions at any stage of pregnancy
- Wants to scrap the Jefferson Rule
- Demands allegiance without promising he will listen to and represent Conservatives / Conservative values
- Has made it clear he is only taking the position if it does not hurt his own personal future political goals

...and you think making Ryan the new Speaker will unite the party and create a Congress that works together?
Well no, I doubt that he can unite the GOP, which is essentially two parties at this point.

And since that can't happen, trying to return to a functional Congress is probably a pipe dream.
.

I think the cure is cutting the "freedom" group loose and telling them to start their own party.

but funny how the GOP made its bed when it gerrymandered its house seats so the only challenge to republicans is from the right... not the left.

and then you end up with winger world holding your party hostage.
My guess is they don't want to start their own party because they want the GOP's infrastructure.

Why start from scratch when you can take over an existing organization?
.

true.

but they're destroying the GOP.... the parasite seems to be eating its host.
I think they know that. They've gone nihilist. They're willing to burn it down in order to build it in their image.
.

even though they're 40 people out of 535???

not gonna happen.... no one wants that but the 40.

the sad part is that smart conservatives make us better... raise up the debate.... even where we disagree.

these people are just stupid. I mean Louis gohmert? really?

Well, listen to them. Listen to Mark Levin and the rest of the echo chamber. If those 40 can paralyze Congress, they can render the party irrelevant. That's the "burning down" part.

I don't know. They've clearly convinced themselves that this is a good idea, and we can only guess about their reasoning.
.

... it would mean governing... and it would also mean an acknowledgement that the ACA was a GOP plan constructed by the Heritage Foundation. It IS the "conservative" plan. Single payor was what the left wanted.

So now we are back to blaming the GOP for Obama's plan? Gimme a break! Harry Reid said in 2013 that it was NEVER meant to succeed but was a stepping stone to Single Payer. He said they KNEW it would collapse but did not know it would begin to do so SO quickly:

AUG 10, 2013: "Reid says Obamacare just a step toward eventual single-payer system"

What we’ve done with Obamacare is a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” Reid said. When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

Reid says Obamacare just a step toward eventual single-payer system

well, you're right, of course.

but I, personally, think it's the same reasons that grover norquist wants to starve government --- so it can't act.

and then they turn us back into the articles of confederation, weaken the federal government and they get to have all the bigoted laws they want.

just my take on things.

you're really funny.

perhaps you would do better to go look at the heritage foundation's plan which Romney used in Massachusetts.

but you wont'... because that would mean you'd be educating yourself.

Progressive Liberals (aka 'Socialists') gradually took over the DNC, changing it's ideology and goals over time. The Freedom Caucus wants to RESTORE the GOP to a party that actually acts on, defends, and fights for its Conservative values, ideology, and values instead of allowing the Washington Establishment to continue to run the GOP as the DNC's doppelganger while only CLAIMING to espouse Conservative values and ideology.

The party is being animated by an echo chamber right now.

I'm reminded of something The Joker told Harvey Dent in the Batman movie:

Dent: "Your men, your plan"

Joker: "Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it. Y'know, I just do things...."

and again, I can't argue with what you're saying. but I do hope the GOP heals itself.

You have to love some of those good old time conservative values that Ryan will bring to America.

1. "Paul Ryan tells House Republicans he’s willing to run, if conditions are met...."
- Paul Ryan tells House Republicans he’s willing to run, if conditions are met

I hope it doesn’t sound conditional — but it is,” he said, according to members inside the room. He paused after saying the word “conditional,” they said, for effect. Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.) moved closer to the House speakership Tuesday, telling fellow Republicans that he would consider taking the job if he could be assured that the caucus would unite behind him.

Ryan DEMANDS that the entire GOP pledge allegiance to him and completely support him and his actions as Speaker.
- Boehner did not have this because Boehner never represented his constituents, the GOP base, or his fellow Republican House members...which is why he is being forced out. Ryan is demanding that type of un-wavering support for whatever he does right off the bat.

2. "Paul Ryan Will Run for Speaker–if Conservative Colleagues Stop Being a ‘Problem’"
- Paul Ryan Will Run for Speaker-if Conservative Colleagues Stop Being a 'Problem' - Breitbart

"Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) admitted during a press conference that he was willing to run for Speaker of the House–but only if they met a list of demands of what it would take to get him to run."

By 'STOP BEING A PROBLEM' Ryan means:
- STOP demanding the ACA be repealed.
- STOP demanding Planned Parenthood be defunded
- STOP demanding the Borders be secured
- STOP demanding 'No Amnesty'
- STOP demanding an end to abortions at ANY stage of pregnancy
- STOP demanding the President and Congress adhere to the Constitution
- STOP demanding the Speaker of the House actually FIGHT the party's core values and beliefs, for issues the American people / Conservatives care about, and that the GOP leadership actually do what is best for the nation and people NOT what is best for themselves or the party.

Ryan has already made it clear that he has aspirations of running for President one day, so he is about to take a position that is known for being the END of 'your' political career, and he is trying to 'hedge his bet' - protect HIS OWN future by trying to force the entire GOP to 'shut up and color' and 'faithfully, and unconditionally back him'.

....Oh, and Obama and the Democrats love the idea of Paul being the new Speaker...

Nothing else more needs to be said or known. Ryan should NOT be the new Speaker of the House!

My conditions would be far easier to meet.

All I need is a year supply of free beer. They can then yell at me all they want. Chances are though, I won't hear a damn word they say.

Heal itself? How does an infection heal itself?

I'm sure Ryan will do a good job of caving to Prog demands. It's just what the GOP does the best.

40 ppl will burn down the house if they don't get their way and they are from gerrymandered eXtreme rw districts.

YAWN

look at the left-wing losers; so bored with their lemming slate of pandering progressive idiots they have nothing better to do but inject their worthless opinions into things Republicans are up to

"STOP demanding the President and Congress adhere to the Constitution"
WTF?

You want the government to abide by the Constitution. You sir are a radical extremist and threat to the Prog agendas.

left-wing losers just dont get it. Just because Democrats voted for EVERY SINGLE ONE of the policies they whine about all the time, both while bush was in office and long after he left, they think someone is "extreme" if they dont roll over and play dead for the current president.

idiots and hypocrites

Let the teatards nominate their guy
Well, turn him down and put a Freedom Caucus guy in there.

Ryan is stepping into a gop hornets nest

He is crazy to even try without assurances from the teatards

I suspect he won't be speaker. it's unfortunate... he might have been a good one. at least, while I agree with none of his economic policies, he doesn't seem to be a typical vile rightwinger. he seems decent....... which is exactly why the wingers won't support him.

to join behind ryan would mean the teatards want to govern. they don't and they never will.
I think Ryan is going to demand a level of cooperation before he accept

I doubt if he will get it

Other than that, they are OK in my book.

The LAST thing ANY politician should call for or do is to throw out anything instituted by our Founding Fathers, who are proven every day to have been far more intelligent, ethical, moral, godly, and willing to sacrifice for the benefit of the country than the politicians of today, like Paul Ryan.

There is a reason why the Jefferson Rule exists - it is a checks-and-balances measure designed to make it easy / prevent it from being extremely hard to remove a corrupt / inept Speaker from his position. Ryan's demand to replace it with yet a tougher requirement to replace jackasses like Boehner and McConnell is just another Washington Establishment ploy to protect the power / position of such jackasses as Boehner and McConnell!

Hey Ryan, enough of the demands - STFU! Do you want the job or not? If not, NEXT!

I wish I could stipulate those kinds of demands for any given job.

1. Boss: STFU
.2. Employees: Do what I tell you to do.
3. Customers: Next to you, I'm always right.

I have some issues with Ryan in the way he treats vets in the budget. He is not a friend of the military.
