The Judge expecting decorum from Trump must have had some lapse of reason, and pushing things this far with threats (that won't be matched with actions) has served all poorly. There is little to be gained from jailing the man, but there is absolutely no risk to the judge or the system. As someone mentioned accurately above, those already loyal to the ex-President are a fixed group and will not increase.
