I went from an all white school in PA to an all black school in new Orleans. In my senior year I had the same classes I had in middle school in PA.. Plus every day there was riot police at are school because of riots! I am glad I only had one year left of school when we moved. I only went to school on test day and still was able to graduate with no problem. I had enough credits to graduate before I even entered my senior year but they made me take those classes that I had in middle school for a credit which was mandatory there

Seriously, there should be no separate classes for blacks. If it's worth learning it's worth everybody learning. If you want to have a course only on black studies then it should be in college and it should be open to everyone.

I would think that black studies is open to the non-black kids and they probably diversified the curriculum to mirror the student body's new diversity. Problem is, white-flight stripped the schools of those who could afford to get out and most of those systems are now broke and broken in part because resources spent on bussing were not used to educate.

As I am sure you also know, you seem to be well read, that when a school becomes a certain percent black grades drop, violence increases, and whites who can afford to flee. I once went to a majority black school. I don't blame them in the least. Even black parents don't want their children attending majority black schools. That's why they want bussing.

When they bused blacks into my high school in the name of desegregation over forty years ago the first thing they did was create a black studies curriculum and a black student union. To object would be racist.

You can't fix learning deficiencies by shuffling kids around. All that does it make libtards feel good because they can pretend to give a fuck (when in reality they don't, they just want to punish whitey).

Actually, the way it was interpreted by some (for years) after the decision is that the white is supposed to rub off on you.

None of this was ever to punish whitey. Problems with multiculturalism stem from groups of white people whose families have been in the country so long that they don't have a "culture" and they are often from the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder. The problem is a lot deeper than just sending the kid to a different school. We need to integrate our neighborhoods and our schools will follow. What's more, when you are growing up next door to someone, you aren't going to have the same prejudices. We also need to do all we can to end illegitimacy. A child raised in a two parent home does better on all measurable levels than a child raised in a single parent home.

years ago, 20/20 followed a group of 4th graders from a New York inner city school and tracked them down when they were in their early 20's. Several of the kids were in jail. Several of the girls were single moms. 2 of the kids were successful. When they asked the students what it is they thought was the single more important factor in raising a child to be a successful adult the number one answer was "Having a father in the home!" Even the unwed mothers said "having a father in the home" was the number one thing they could do to insure their child's success. Coincidentally, the 2 kids who became successful were the 2 who grew up with a father in the home. How only 2 could have father's in the home was beyond me. When I grew up it was normal to have two parents in the home, now it seems to be the exception.

I disagree. As a Black youth growing up I did not see me reflected in the classes I had in K-12. I did hear all about how whites did this and did that but never heard anything about Black people until a brief chapter on slavery that was in most cases glossed over. If I had known Africans were the ones that invented advanced math and the first to show proof of advanced calculations I would have definitely been more interested in school. If I would have been aware of the rich history and foundation that people that looked like me provided this world I would not have thought going to school was such a drag. Unitl this is rectified the best thing would be to either home school our children or start separate schools geared toward Black children.

That's because blacks had very little input into the advances of western culture. That's part of why it's called western culture. Apparently you are so blinded by the institutional racism you were indoctrinated into that you'd prefer race-based revisionist history over the truth.

Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and others have been successful businessmen. Dr. Dre is going to be a billionaire after he sells Beats to Apple. There are plenty of black scientists out there too.
