If the head of the RNC said this, the establishment must be coming around to the fact Trump will take it all!

Washington Post ^ | 1/4/2016
Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus just gave presidential contender Donald Trump a huge vote of confidence in a Washington Post retrospective published Sunday about the Republican Party's hectic 2015: I'm not one of these people that think that Donald Trump can't win a general election. I actually think there is a huge crossover appeal there to people that are disengaged politically that he speaks to.... Donald Trump taps into the culture. Some people in politics don't get it, don't understand it, are frustrated by it. It doesn't matter. He does.

Perhaps. I think they've figured out fighting him short term isn't going to work, so they're going to work on thinning the herd and try and move that support to Rubio, who is more controllable than Cruz, maybe Christie. In the meantime give him less ammo to shoot at the Republican establishment with.

Sounds like they're getting smarter. Only one problem with that. Trump looks like he's at least 2 weeks ahead of them in figuring it out.

Finally, Priebus is seeing the writing on the wall. Trump isn't going away, and their investment in Bush is a losing proposition. Kasich is a loser too, as is Christie and Rubio. This is not the year for establishment Republicans and those who want to win will rally behind Trump and Cruz. The times they are a changin'.

What else would you expect him to say?
If he was truthful, he would say something like this.

" It looks like our nominee is going to be the biggest idiot who ever wanted to be president. He's insulted every major demographic, and some of the main ones multiple times, and there isn't a chance in hell of him being elected. We have had several meetings to try to figure out some way to get rid of him, but it looks like we're just stuck. We worked so hard to create a right wing that will believe any stupid thing we told them, but it's backfired on us."

Just like Romney.

Preibus and all the rest of them are going to start lining up behind Trump, and then they'll be sorry they did once he's the nominee and tens of millions of people who aren't really following things start tuning in, because then they're going to have to answer for all the crazy ass shit he says once they realize they're stuck with a loose cannon.

Should end up being a great year for the Libertarian party.

It will never be a good year for the Libertarian party.

You guys are all over the internet, but your candidates never get more than 1%.

Just which major demographic has Trump insulted?

Liberals don't get it. They've been pushing PC for so long they think people really think that way. They don't. Trump is winning people over because he speaks his mind and they agree with what he's saying. They want Islamic immigration to be halted, they want the border sealed, and they don't want to give up their right and ability to defend themselves.. Trump is the only honest candidate running and he doesn't give a damn if he steps on a few toes to get his point across. People like that and it's driving liberals crazy. Cruz isn't bad either, which also drives them crazy.

Priebus has probably looked at the polls and is furiously hedging his bets.

Problem for him and the GOP is that Cruz would benefit most from any Trump implosion.

Just which major demographic has Trump insulted?
None, he only insults people who insult him first. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree with a lot of what Trump says and he and Cruz are electable.

Trump will give an honest answer if a question is asked and he doesn't give shit one whether you like his answer or not.

He's talking about subjects people want to hear about and that why he's leading.

Would he make a good POTUS?? Don't know but we could certainly be finding out in 2016.

Their may be inbred wackjobs everywhere, but there isn't a majority of them in most states. Priebus has been hitting the booze again.

If you don't know, it's not my place to tell you. Open a newspaper.

No one believed that except for the dumb ass Republican establishment. These same dumb asses are saying Trump has no chance...see the pattern?

How many democrat gun owners are there? That's a hefty cross over.

Lots of democratic gun owners. I'm one myself. Very few democratic gun nuts who don't want reasonable safety precautions and even fewer who like playing cowboy and packing heat to go buy a loaf of bread.
