Now we see if Putin calculates either that invading Ukraine (again) is worth losing the Nordstream pipeline, or if he thinks he will be able to get it done later, after invading Ukraine.

Or maybe the prospect of losing the pipeline has ended the threat, for now.

Sure, Ukraine would be a country that Putin would want with its natural resources. All this as a military exercise is definitely BS. You'd like to see energy independence for Europe, but it's difficult to see Europe invalidating their contract over Ukraine. If Europe had that kind of independence and power, then sure they can do it. Do they have any agreements with the Ukraine?

As I've said many a time on other threads, here and elsewhere. Putin over the years tries to ruffle feathers, sailing subs and ships, and flying planes close to other country's borders. The guy is full of hot air, he thinks he can then bargain for something.
