Settlements

The settlements violate international law and should be gone along with the zionist regime that claims their legitimacy.

Israel is only building in places where she has legal custodianship.

She is being very restrained in where she chooses to build. Those areas where she chooses to build will be under her sovereignty in a final negotiated agreement (Green Line with land swaps has been an accepted basis for negotiation since 1967).

The settlements are no more an obstacle to peace than the Arabs living in Nazareth are.

What?

Yes, abi, I know all the accusations and arguments about "flagrant violations of international law" but the arguments are legally flawed. (Read: flat out wrong).

Unsettled: A Global Study of Settlements in Occupied Territories

Do you want to discuss it? The starting point of the argument is that Israel is transporting her population into occupied territory. So we need to know what territory is "occupied Palestine"? The legal boundary between Israel and "Palestine". Where is it?

You mean an anti-israeli source on purpose. And your post had me going, "what?". An attack last week? Then I saw the article is almost three years old.
Actually what is wrong with the source Teddy? This inequity HAS been. An ongoing problem and settlers attacking or harassing Palestinians receives far less attention and less harsh consequences than the opposite. So much so that it took a couple of brutal crimes to finally open their eyes to the seriousness of some of their zealots.

To Israel’s credit they HAVE finally started cracking down on these homegrown terrorists, something we haven’t yet seen from the Palestinian leadership.

Except East Jerusalem.

It doesn't say what he wants. Note, he disputed none of the facts.

The settlements and the brutality that goes along are expanding and give examples of what we haven’t yet seen from the Palestinian leadership.

What?
You should be embarrassed that you don't know the definition of the settlements.
Yet further proof that you're no more than a simple Jew hater.

The settlements are completely legal.
It's amazing the lies that the moderators allow you to get away with.

Are they still rewarding terrorist acts?

Except East Jerusalem.

I'm not sure what you are "excepting" here about East Jerusalem. East Jerusalem, until recently, had been understood to eventually belong to Palestine in a negotiated agreement. It was offered and rejected under the Olmert plan in 2008.

But if your intent is to note that ship has sailed, we agree. Israel fully intends to assert sovereignty over all of Jerusalem, undivided.

Israel is making unilateral decisions because Arab Palestine does not have the infrastructure or functioning government or will to negotiate a solution, let alone impose one.

Not true.
Opinions are one thing, Babbly lies all day long.
There's a point where willful ignorance is a lie and should be regarded as a breach in forum rules.

The definition of "settlements" is problematic, of itself, let alone discussing them. I believe I mentioned that in the OP.

Why is Arab Jerusalem not considered a settlement?

What I meant was Israel has steadily been building settlements in East Jerusalem for years. East Jerusalem was supposed to belong to Palestine as you noted. That status did not change with Olmert. So no, Israel has not been restricting her settlements to territory negotiated as hers.

Google...Why is Arab Jerusalem not considered a settlement.
The Arabs have blown whatever promise they had for a thriving civilization.

Depends on whose name calling you prescribe to.

Israelis get college scholarships when they bomb the crap out of civilians in Gaza.

Perhaps because Jews living next to a booby trap has become tiring.
