How about one for transgenders? We need an anthem for every race group.
The question was “our” national anthem, meaning the US not canadaOr not stand as a sign of disrespect. It's the perfect opportunity to show displeasure with Biden, for instance.
You can if you want toOK
Then should not people stand for Lift Every Voice and Sing?
As a sign of respect?
Personally I could replace the current anthem with something that does not glorify violence and death.
But that's just me.
Why not. Everyone gets an anthem. How about one for transgenders?
So, you disagree that people should stand for the black national anthem. We are not required to stand or anything else for the National Anthem. The Supreme Court made that clear in Barnette vs. West Virginia Board of Education during WW2.
There is an unlimited number of genders. How about one for transgenders?
I don't care. So, you disagree that people should stand for the black national anthem.
As a sign for what? Voices and singing? People show respect for the Anthem as a sign of respect for one's COUNTRY, not the song, not for any particular group. Then should not people stand for Lift Every Voice and Sing? As a sign of respect?
Is it glorifying violence and death? Or is it glorifying patriotism and sacrifice for a higher ideal.Personally I could replace the current anthem with something that does not glorify violence and death.
A lot of Americans died fighting for this countryNo. What are the fascist gonna do, fine me if I don't stand. How about sloughing during the song, or talking while it's being blasted over the PA. What if I'm in line getting a hot dog?
Unless it's Jimi Hendrix's version........
You should not be compelled to stand in a free country.I say, yes, this is our national anthem. But, it is not necessary to stand during other songs, which are not our national anthem. Other songs are NOT the national anthem.
