Should we raise taxes to combat Ebola?

How about Ebola Scratchoffs? Like them there gambling games?

"Scratch off to Stop Ebola!" Or win valuable prizes like two tickets to Disneyland!

We could put 24/7 medical hazmat teams at all hospitals, clinics, and airports along with specially equipped rooms to isolate patients suspected of having or having Ebola.

We could also fund research to come up with a cure.

Time to get serious?

Your arragance is appalling. Ebola is the biggest threat since Aids. Will it become a major problem here? That remains to be seen, but it certainly is unwise to mock people for taking the threat seriously now.
You think that proactive suggestion of hers does not stand merit? It's actually a very good proposal imo.

She's not being serios. She's just mocking people for taking the threat seriously.

higher taxes does not automatically = efficiency, accuracy, capability, skill or competency.

anyone who has lived longer than about 15 years knows this...

but indulge your fantasy...

If it could be shown that raising taxes would save a million Americans from Ebola, would you be in favor of raising taxes?

Absolutely. I'm not a mindless, ideological drone.

How about you? Would you raise taxes to save a million Americans from Ebola?

We already raised $3,000,000,000,000.00 dollars this year. THAT IS THREE TRILLION DOLLARS TO SAVE AMERICANS AND OTHERS FROM EBOLA.

No I'm not a mindless ideological drone. Any other stupid statements you want to make?

There ya have it....we want to fight this deadly disease, but just don't want to pay for it
^ that

Repub-voters want all the amenities of living in a First World nation, they just want to simultaneously be deadbeats.

Might start a thread entitled "GOP- Deadbeat Nation" :eusa_think:

Yeah cause the republicans arguing for a flat tax and lower corporate tax rates are the 50% OF AMERICAN INCOME EARNERS WHO ARE PAYING ZERO IN FEDERAL INCOME TAXES :cuckoo:

You are a retard.

But it would sure pay for a lot of hazmat teams and isolation wards. Which would stop the spread of Ebola. This isn't rocket science

But isolating people isn't politically correct.

And yet we are doing it. So why not be serious about combatting Ebola?

exactly..ebola and all other 3rd world diseases...
close and enforce the border would show that we are "serious"...but that would hamper statists who want americans displaced in the work force by illegals who will work cheaper, undercutting fair wages and causing more people to be dependent on gvmt...which will lead to more votes by poor people who are displaced by illegals.

..but you don't understand that, right?

Repub-voters don't like 'paying for stuff'. Funny how they don't see the irony to that.

That isn't how it works. Taxes are raised, a new department is formed to manage the accounts. They need to first build the headquarters, since nothing large enough will be vacant, then they need to scout out local locations, building when needed, which is usually.

Then they need to form the infrastructure for transportation, including a fleet of new trucks and delivery vans, maintenance departments, etc.

Then hire all the people to run the show. Higher management salaries will leave most people breathless if they knew, everyone else is very well compensated, with retirement plans, health benefits, vacation days, etc. Company cars for the higher ups. And there will be a LOT of higher ups.

Then a suit will be delivered to a hospital somewhere at some point and they will scream bloody murder that they are underfunded because of all those goddamn greedy Republicans and taxes need to be raised so they can afford some gear.
