Your premise that getting rid of guns will stop violence is shown to be flawed because in the countries that have done that simply saw an increase in violence done with weapons OTHER than guns. So would it make you happier, Dubya if the horrific murders of those young kids had been done by a matchete wielding lunatic rather than a gun wielding lunatic...because the Harvard study found that getting rid of guns didn't get rid of violence...it just got rid of gun violence.

The "premise" is guns make it easier to kill and that's called a fact. Of course getting rid of guns will not stop murder, so why wouldn't it increase other ways to murder someone? That still doesn't mean the amount of murders are even close to what they were with guns.

We should look at similar countries like the UK and analyze why a country a fifth our size only has 35 homicides by gun per year. What you have to prove is that was reason he wasn't drafted. The fact is, he was given a deferement because he was a college student and/or failed a medical exam doesn't make a hill of beans. Even your link "snopes" admits it can't ascertain how much of his record either matches or departs from what Ted has said in those interviews.

The only thing I have to go on is "The Nuge's" own testimony, where he stated, plainly, that he intentionally took drugs and then intentionally defecated on the floor during his physical.

So, who am I to believe? "The Nuge" of 1977, or the Nuge of later years?

Either way, the Nuge is a liar.

And, since the fact that he got a medical deferment seems to support the early Nuge, rather than the later Nuge, I'm going to say that early Nuge's account is more credible than the later Nuge's.

You obviously didn't read the Harvard study, Dubya because they talk about the UK extensively. Their analysis does nothing to bolster your contention I'm afraid...which you would know if you'd taken the time and looked at the report. Nor is that report something that is "cherry picked"...something else you would know if you'd read the Harvard study! The truth is several other extensive studies on gun control law came to the conclusion that there was no drop in violent crime when additional gun controls were put in place.
