Texas Father Shoots Teen Boy Hiding In Daughter's Room

I would not shoot him. I would ask him to leave then I'd beat the daughters ass and hope she called cps who subsequently removes her from my home! :)

my take;

The thread title is a fucking lie. You are not a boy at 17 unless liberals can use your death to push their anti-Constitutional agenda.

aside from the partisan hackery, and grand jury is needed to make sure everything is done properly. Also this should get out so that people don't repeat this mistake.

I feel for both families, even more b/c I know what horrors liberals will bring upon them.

Fortunately for society you're not a parent. Age 17 is still someone's boy and the gun happy father needs to spend the rest of his life in prison.

That daughter told you she didn't know him.

You would ask the stranger to leave and then beat your daughter's ass because, as far as you knew at that point, a stranger had assaulted her in the night?

And the title has no bearing on the topic.

Father should be left alone. Dumb bitch should be charged with negligent homicide. Her actions resulted in the kids death.

The title is the attempt to mislead.

god I hate to bring this up; Did Zimmerman shoot a boy or a young man?

At 17, you are a young man, but 'boy' is used to twist things. This 'boy' was killed, take away the 2nd.

Studies have shown that children's brains are not complete, that they are not able to act and react as adults until much later.

17 is still a child.

But at exactly the moment of the 18th anniversary of their birthdates they are "able to act and react as adults until much later. " Riiiiiiiiiiight!

The guy was not an intruder in the daughter's home. She does not own it. He was an intruder in the FATHER's home. The father owns the house. And he did not know the intruder. In many states you may kill an intruder in your home who you personally do not know and you are not required to retreat. That is the 'castle' doctrine. I'd bet the cyber dollar this one gets off completely, unless there were Skittles involved. In that case, he will get the lethal injection.

Her conscious? Is there a brain in your head?

Of course you would shoot the kid. You are a person who cannot handle himself without the firearm.....or with it.

A quick move with his hands? Maybe swatting a fly? If you don't see a weapon you DO NOT SHOOT!!!!

Yabut, he might have been getting ready to throw popcorn.

But yes, the girl will have this on her conscience for the rest of her life, and maybe her conscious, as well.
When based on the information your daughter gives you" no daddy, i don't know him" , that kid in the eyes of the father is an intruder. One does not move suddenly in any way if there is a person with a gun pointed at them. FREEZE...or take a bullet.

In my state, the intruder does not have to do anything except be in the home to get shot. Self defense doesn't figure into this. Many states hold the intruder is presumed to be there to do you harm and you have leave to kill him.

You're the reason there should be gun control.

the father was on the phone to 911...the police were coming one would assume... if he felt that threaten why didnt he isolate the young man....the teen and father were arguing...wonder what that was about...perhaps the teen saying....your daughter ask me up here...or let me up here..and guess what...that just fries daddy's pie that his sweet daughter is a tramp and he lets his anger out on the boy...after all the brother reports seeing feet from under the bed...now that should have told the father something? seems she was not screaming etc....and the father just falls for this line of she didnt know him....now tell me this...how many parents of teenagers know they are lying when their mouths are moving?

If I found a 17 year old boy in my 16 year old daughter's bedroom and she denied knowing him and he made a quick move with his hands I would have shot him too. The daughter who reportedly claimed she did not know him will have to live with that on her conscious.

suppose the kid was a martial arts master? Suppose he had a weapon hidden in his hand, such as a knife, which could have put to the throat of the girl?
Are you saying you would take that chance with your daughter's life based on some left wing ideology?

Suppose he was Batman while you are at it.

A teenager in Harris County, Texas, was fatally shot by the father of a girl who sneaked the boy into her bedroom, authorities said.

Johran McCormick, 17, was shot early Thursday morning after the father of a 16-year-old girl found him in her bedroom, KHOU-TV reports.

McCormick was discovered first when the girl's younger brother went to say good night to her and saw two feet sticking out from under her bed.

The brother got his father who confronted McCormick after the daughter reportedly claimed she did not know him.

The man, whose name has not been released, called 911. He then got into an argument with the teen. The father told police that he opened fire when McCormick suddenly moved his hands, according to RawStory.com.

McCormick died at the scene. Deputies recovered a handgun from the home.

Investigators later discovered the victim was a friend of the daughter's whom she had let into the home, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Apparently no charges are being filed but instead the case will be taken to a grand jury to determine if charges should be filed. What say you all?

I will give my take when I get back home later tonight.

Another casualty in America's war on sex. Instead of allowing a 16yo to have a guest over and fool around, we make her feel so guilty about it that when confronted about the guest she lies and thus an 'intruder' is now present, not a boyfriend.

Hard to give an opinion based solely on the OP. Presumedly the father was holding him at gunpoint when the boyfriend did something to make the father fearful and fire. My first thought is lethal force wasn't justified because somebody twitched. Without knowing the situation and setting though that might be wrong.

We are NOT going to lower the consent age.

If you wait until you see the weapon, you are already dead.

Were I on the grand jury I'd certainly find that there was reason to take this man to trial for homicide.

What reason is that? The guy was in his house, in his daughter's room, his daughter denied knowing him, he made a move, the man shot. It's what I would have done, it's pretty much what everyone in the country who has a daughter would do. In this case, the daughter is the guilty party, if she'd told the truth, the guy would still be alive.

Actually, they will remove BOTH of you from the house.

She goes to foster parents and you will be relocated to Walker County where you will be a guest of TDCJ for a long while.

You would allow your 16 year old daughter to "fool around" in your house? Tell me, when your daughter gets HIV, what do you tell her? "I'm sorry I let you fool around?" You know, some people just shouldn't be parents.

A gun nut father, finds out his bitch daughter is a whore and shoots her lover, well, at least the one he found.
He them claims, "Rapid movement" as his excuse to shoot the young lad.

This is clearly murder and the father should be executed for his crime.

I think he should and will be charged with 2nd degree murder. The least charge he will face is involuntary manslaughter. He killed an unarmed guest in his home.

He killed a guy in he found in his daughter's bedroom that his daughter said she didn't know. He held a gun on the guy an the guy made a move so he shot him. If anyone is holding a gun on you, do not move. The daughter and the boyfriend are the one's in the wrong here. She lied, and he was hiding. The fact that he was hiding shows he knew he shouldn't be there.
