A person in Butte County, California, went to a crowded in-person church service on Mother's Day and then tested positive for COVID-19 one day later. Now health officials say the person potentially exposed 180 others at the church.

So what? Everyone is 'exposed' to literally thousands if not millions of viruses and bacteria every day. Our immune systems take care of most of them. People with severely lowered immune systems should stay away from any place where there are multiple people. Also, you have no way of knowing if the 'exposure' of these people will result in a full blown infection or just a stronger immune system.

I do but, most of those 6 people will never get sick and may not even know they have the virus. However, their immune systems will develop immunity. Some may actually get sick but get over it. Few, if none, will actually die of it.

Yep.....Exactly....I remember a doctor who once said your health mostly depends on your body fighting off most pathogens, germs, viruses, etc. and there will always be something out there waiting to take you down. In October 2010 my husband and I were going to brunch when he saw a red spot on his thigh. There was no break in the skin. It was just a red spot the size of a dime but painful so we decided to stay home. By 3pm the redness covered a third of his thigh. We went to the emergency room. At 8pm the redness was half his thigh and We were waiting for a specialist. It was necrotizing fascistis, flesh eating bacteria. He could undergo surgery that would give him a 50/50 chance or do nothing and he would be dead in less than a week. We elected the surgery. A surgeon came in at 1am. It was a gamble that we lost. He was dead before Christmas. No one knows how he got it or where it came from. It is just one of those pathogens that strike out of the blue. The Wuflu doesn't scare me.

The Chinese virus is a flu. It is a SARS type. No vaccine. There may never be a vaccine. The more times you have had the flu the less likely you are to get a flu. As pathogens go this one is quite mild. Most people get it and don't even know until they test positive. Being old does not mean you will die of the flu. Old and sick means you will die of this flu or any other flu. The world is a dark and dangerous place. Sudden death can strike at any moment.
