This warm winter we're having

Where oh where are all these commercials by the fossil fuel companies promoting climate change is false and misleading the public like the tobacco industry did?

How about BP? What they are investing 8 billion dollars in alternative energy?

BP Alternative Energy Overview:

Yes, almost two hundred nations have stated that AGW is a problem. And the ignoramouses actually believe their uneducated opinions are worth more than that of all the scientists in the world.
Your appeals to authoritarian control are bull shit.. You have no evidence to support your supposition and what empirical evidence there is shows your position false and unsupported by facts..

How come you deniers cannot produce one single solitary Peer reviewed study proving that there is no Global warming ...
The fact of the matter is that the Earth's climate has been on a long-term cooling trend for billions of years.
where is the peer reviewed scientific papers that contradict Climate science ...where ...and your post with Tim Ball was a hair ball of right wing bull shit

Well now, looks like Gore won. Essentially all the nations that count stated that he was correct, and the issue had to be addressed. Leaving fools like you looking even more ignorant than usual.

We KNOW that we're killing the seas by pumping CO2 into the atmosphere. That much is proven by a big change in the PH levels of the sea and the destruction of marine habitat. But of course, you don't care about the sea, you don't live in it, so it's okay as long as rich people are making money.
You backed up your theory by attacking rich people? That makes no sense.

We are polluting less as technology advances. That is true across the globe and will continue to be true. What more do you recommend besides trying to make people feel guilty for exhaling?

Rich people, I mean VERY RICH PEOPLE who would lose money if they had to comply with policies that would make the planet less polluted.

Yes, we're polluting less as we get more advanced. However India, Africa and most of the world still has to go through a period of development that is going to massively pollute the world.

Old Rocks, you're a fucking brainwashed fool.

Brainwashed because.... he provides evidence?
He has provided no evidence whatsoever to back up his position that increasing CO2 levels are having any deleterious effect on our climate. Zero, zip, nothing.

He just mindlessly repeats the Global Warming Alarmist mantra like the brainwashed doomsday cult member that he is. And it is a doomsday cult. I've studied these cults extensively for years. It's got all of the elements of doomsday cults, even a messiah. Al Gore is like their Jim Jones.

So, because there is not 100% evidence for something, does this mean it's not the case?

What you see are educated guesses. Looking at information, trying to plug gaps.

What happens on your side is a complete rejection of something you find inconvenient, ignoring things because there are things you feel you can ignore. You give a name, like cult, and then you go around telling everyone how it's a cult and then laugh hysterically at it all and how stupid these people are..... yet, you're not doing anything intelligent.

People who say we're polluting the world and changing things are looking at what is happening and trying to predict. They might be wrong, but they might be only slightly wrong, at which point you say they're wrong and therefore NOTHING is happening. That's ridiculous.

We KNOW that we're killing the seas by pumping CO2 into the atmosphere. That much is proven by a big change in the PH levels of the sea and the destruction of marine habitat. But of course, you don't care about the sea, you don't live in it, so it's okay as long as rich people are making money.
I'm just too knowledgable to believe that the trace gas CO2 is some super tail that wags the climate dog.

And regarding ocean acidification, I believe that is primarily due to the centuries long oceanic cooling trend. As the ocean cools it entrains more CO2. See Henry's law.

You're too knowledgeable to understand things?

Oh, you believe the ocean is because of a cooling trend. Yeah, I meet a lot of people like you, people who "believe" things without so much as a shred of evidence.

Old Rocks, you're a fucking brainwashed fool.

Brainwashed because.... he provides evidence?

My OP did too, but you liberals are dismissing it out of hand. Ignoring what isn't convenient for your rhetoric.

I didn't dismiss what you had to say. It helps explain why it's warmer, however it's not really the point is it? the point is that local weather isn't global weather. So, it doesn't matter if it's warmer or colder in NY this winter, this doesn't tell us anything.

How come you deniers cannot produce one single solitary Peer reviewed study proving that there is no Global warming ...
The fact of the matter is that the Earth's climate has been on a long-term cooling trend for billions of years.
Silly ass, learn something before you spout nonsense. There have been a couple of cooling periods that make the present glacial periods look positively warm. They were called snowball earths.
That's short term variability. I'm talking about the long term trend, obviously.

The fact of the matter is that you can say the Earth is cooling and be correct.

Another relevant fact is that all climate change is natural.
God, you are dumb. The present glacial cycle is hardly a permanent one, and in the coming billions of years, the sun will be getting warmer, as will the earth. But that is irrevelant, because, as Homo Sap, we have been around only about 200,000 years, and probably won't be around another 200,000. More than likely supplanted by something better, our own descendants.

However, our present civilization will be easily disrupted by the affects of a very fast warming, and that is what waits for us in the future.
You've got it ass-backwards. Warmer periods are associated with advances in civilization. Cool periods are associated with the downfall of civilizations.

Which no one still haven't found? English is this person's third language?

So the illiterate states. With nothing at all to back up his silly opinion. Sorry boys, you have lost, and the sane people in the world have won.

A particularly cold period in the Little Ice Age began in about 1770. So you are saying that the events in North America in 1776 represent the downfall of civilization. Damn, you fellows are stupid.

As marijuana industry expands, power demands tax U.S. grids

Denver • Pot is not green.

The $3.5 billion U.S. cannabis market is emerging as one of the nation's most power-hungry industries, with the 24-hour demands of thousands of indoor growing sites taxing aging electricity grids and unraveling hard-earned gains in energy conservation.

Without design standards or efficient equipment, the facilities in the 23 states where marijuana is legal are responsible for greenhouse-gas emissions almost equal to those of every car, home and business in New Hampshire. While reams of regulations cover everything from tracking individual plants to package labeling to advertising, they lack requirements to reduce energy waste.

This is kind of funny, I remember arguing with people saying the electric grid was not designed to handle 100 million electric cars plugged in at night.

People told me no no it would be fine.

Oregon marijuana grows are causing problems for the state’s electrical grid

Oregon marijuana grows are causing problems for the state’s electrical grid
Oregon marijuana grow operations have taken grids above capacity, blowing out seven transformers since July and causing outages and equipment damage, utilities say

Portland General Electric has had similar problems, according to spokesman Steve Corson. He said anecdotal reports from PGE crews show about 10 percent of their transformer blowouts are from growing operations, with about 400 blowouts each year.

To curb the problem, utility companies are asking marijuana growers to talk to power providers before starting home or commercial operations to make sure electrical systems are operating correctly.

Just one or two in-house growing operations on a circuit could overload the local grid and cause an outage, according to Pacific Power spokesman Tom Gauntt.

the point is that local weather isn't global weather.

At least you get it.

So, answer me this. We have the warmest winter on record here in the US, but instead of the weather patterns I discussed being the cause, the overall warm winter in the US is somehow being used by other people as an indicator of "global warming."

Why?
