I’ll call your presidential age limit idea and raise it double to add an amendment requiring a battery of presidential IQ, knowledge, and emotional tests prior to elections! This is the obvious way forward to ensure better candidates, yet we have no one fighting for any “proof of worth” measure on the hill. What a shocker that career politicians don’t want any part of any kind of presidential testing, because they know that would mean it could lead to their own caliber of worth being determined on paper. It’s a lot harder to lie on paper as opposed to making campaign promises, even trying to trick the test if you’re given a high grade test the tricksters usually oust themselves attempting deception.

Otherwise, as other posters have mentioned, some 90 year olds are more swift than 35 year olds. Individual brain capacity should be measured and evaluated regardless of candidate’s age. A one-size-fits-all (like saying all people 80 or over are too old) doesn’t work with individual brain assessment.

True, as most people age they develop and accumulate plaque in their brains, (overload connected to significant memory loss) but there are effective techniques to reduce plaque and some people accumulate much less than average, mostly due to a good genetic line.
