He tried to get the Ukraine to look into the Bidens to get dirt on his biggest Democratic competitor, at the time, for President of the US. It may never be proved but it is true.
He had the top military leader of Iran taken out because it could help his reelection bid. It is a big risk but he is a big risk taker. Taking out Gen. Qassim Suleimani could end up being very good for the US and very good for Trump.
But Trump's main motivation is that it be very good for him over very good for the US.
It also may end up very bad for the US and very bad for Trump.
