Trumps VP pick

I do not know who is best from a poly sci perspective, but I would love Tulsi as Veep.

You know who would make the lefties lose their minds?

DJT jr. :laughing0301:

Those communists would go apoplectic.

He's going to pick his nose then pick his most loyal of sycophant to run with him.
no, that is senile joe. Remember, a vote for biden is a vote for president kamala, joe won't last 4 years so you are voting for that cackling idiot to be president.

Kamala picking a strong VP could help her perceived weaknesses though, no?

The talking heads came up with three names:
1. Youngkin to give Trump VA
2. Nikki Haley to unify the GOP
3. Tim Scott is interesting, not sure if that would gain minority votes?

Why did Trump rollout his goofy "tariffs in lieu of income tax plan" now? That will cost him the election.

Google hides bad news about the Biden Family as do all the search engines.
I found it! It's out there in detail by legit news organizations but they have paywalls. I just had to renew my subscription with the New York Times to get the full in depth story....:(.... Thank goodness they were offering me a $1 a week special to renew!

Oh boy oh boy....!!! It is much more complicated than I ever imagined, even more than what y'all are reporting on it!!

Maybe you have a couple of free read articles left at the Times??

Can the governor of Florida, temporarily appoint a person, a Republican to fill the empty position of the candidate that resigned? And keep the seat Republican?

They don't get separate votes for VP and president anymore. There is no way to vote separately for a VP or hold a vote back of a vp. No elector in any state votes for VP separately.

The entire state's electoral college vote, will not count with two from the same state. In Florida's case....the presidential candidate and vp, loses Florida's 30 electoral votes.....all 30 of them.

The governor can appoint a senator, not a representative.

In this case, they'd get to vote for one or the other.

Wrong.

The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves.

That was BEFORE we changed it, to only 1elector vote for president and vice president, COMBINED is cast.

SINCE they are combined, and electors only vote once for a joint ticket the 1 vote they have can not be used with the VP from the same state on the joint ticket, and is forfeited.

We changed the Constitution? Post the change.

Amendment Twelve to the Constitution was ratified on June 15, 1804. It revises and outlines the procedure of how Presidents and Vice Presidents are elected

Amendment Twelve to the Constitution was ratified on June 15, 1804. It revises and outlines the procedure of how Presidents and Vice Presidents are elected

The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;

— the President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;

— The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice-President shall act as President, as in case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President.

— The person having the greatest number of votes as Vice-President, shall be the Vice-President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed, and if no person have a majority, then from the two highest numbers on the list, the Senate shall choose the Vice-President; a quorum for the purpose shall consist of two-thirds of the whole number of Senators, and a majority of the whole number shall be necessary to a choice. But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Now where is the part that supports your claim, "only 1 elector vote for president and vice president, COMBINED is cast"?

Do you think it’s essential for Trump to pander and pick a woman or person of color? Would it hurt him if he picks a white guy?
In 10 yrs I’ve never started a thread, hopefully I did it right.
Would it hurt him.

No, I don't think so.

But who?

The only two I favor are Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek Ramaswamy.

No insiders.
