Did he die at the scene from the beating he got? No. So he wasn't beaten to death. He was beaten to a mortal wounding and died 3 days later.

a lot of these incidents can be avoid if these people that run from police would just follow instructions when they are been questioned or detained. they can argue their point in court. But there are so many runners out there.

Yes, there are many runners out there. Or those who simply resist arrest. Why? Because it is money in the bank. From suing the city over use of excessive force. That is probably what tyre was up to. What other reason to resist and run did he have. To him, every punch and kick was probably just more money in the bank to him. And the cops probably knew exactly what he was up to.
