I've reached the point where I seldom watch the news. "Reporters" and "journalists" can't be trusted. Even on local news sometimes - let's say something happens in Oregon but makes national news - the locals will find a "connection" to Tennessee. Somehow, they manage to find a relative of the offender who is a 15th cousin who used to live in TN 20 years ago and hasn't seen the offender since then. Bingo! There's the "connection." If you're looking at some of the grocery store tabloids...good Lord...you're reading BS doled out by journalism failures or dropouts. When they reach the big time on the major networks, etc. they wash, wring, spin, or whatever they have to do to broadcast whatever they want the public to believe is true.

Even the talk shows - I can watch for a few minutes, but when the subject ceases to be a discussion and becomes an outright quarrel between two people who can't be heard over each other - boom! I flip the channel.
