It's always instructive when some jackboot authoritarian citizen-abuse event happens ---- who comes out on which side.
Always instructive, rarely surprising.![]()
"Police"? Those were police officers?United is at fault
They had no business removing paying passengers once they were seated. When Republic called and said they needed four seats, United should have just said .....too late, we have already boarded
Yes, and that's great that this stupid practice is now likely to end.
HOWEVER, until that happens, how about acting like the rest of us grown-ups and not fucking up the day for everyone else.
Of course, I keep forgetting that the universe orbits around this one asshole paseenger.
Bullshit
Acting like a grownup means the airline realizes that kicking off people who need to reach their destination that day was going to cause trouble
Blame the airline for provoking the disturbance, not the passengers for being disturbed
The airline is at fault for having a system like this in the first place, but once the police come the adult thing to do is comply, then contemplate a lawsuit.
Instead we have the little three year old narcicistic go into his tantrum fucking up everyone elses flight.
Authoritarians are still authoritarians regardless of their political flavor. It's always instructive when some jackboot authoritarian citizen-abuse event happens ---- who comes out on which side.

Agreed. Isn't ironic how the "small government" individual liberty "loving" Tea Party conservatives always come out on the side of big government thuggery?
Like they did with Alec Baldwin after his "Words with Friends" tantrum?By the way, SNL will probably have some funny skits on this Saturday night.
Hired by the City of Chicago (Liberal Central) and trained at the same facilities as the CPD, just not as well trained."Police"? Those were police officers?United is at fault

Don't be a smartass. They were aviation officers.
Easier and cheaper to just cancel the flight.United is at fault

So your solution is to cancel a fully loaded flight ready to take off just because Republic employees showed up at the gate without calling in advance?
Republic should have been told.....Sorry, too late, the flight has already boarded

FIrst of all, it was not Chicago's LEOs.....Authoritarians are still authoritarians regardless of their political flavor. It's always instructive when some jackboot authoritarian citizen-abuse event happens ---- who comes out on which side.

While I readily agree Chicago's LEOs mishandled this in a number of ways, that does not absolve Dao from his breaking of several laws and inconveniencing his fellow passengers. Not those just on board, but those leaving SDF the next day and for several flights going both ways as those passenger loads had to be shuffled.
I heard the tape. Dr Dao never threw a tantrum and was quite respectful. He explained the reason why he could not miss the flightUnited is at fault

At an airport the size of OHare, I would be surprised if United did not have small planes available to shuttle employees or go for spare parts or equipmentEasier and cheaper to just cancel the flight.United is at fault

That's weird, even for him.
Airlines could have small puddle jumpers standing by - it would cost a lot less than this debacle.
I don't regard them as 'cowards'.To a conservative the worst possible crime is not accepting, without question, instructions from 'authority'.The soon to be rich doctor already has his lawyers ready to sick 'em on the soon to be defendents.
Watch now: Dr. David Dao's lawyers, daughter speak to the media
Lawyers for Dr. David Dao, the Kentucky doctor who was violently pulled from a United Airlines flight on Sunday, have called a press conference for 11 a.m. Thursday in Chicago. His daughter, Crystal Dao Pepper, will also speak....

Yeah, because it's so much more acceptable to make such a public spectacle of yourself, and create such chaos, that everyone else on the plane has their day ruined and their flight delayed.
Because after all, this mans time was more important than everyone else's.
You realize that four people were selected to be removed, and three of those left without incident. To you fucking liberals they are "cowards" for leaving.
I call them "adults" for making the best of a bad situation, and choosing to not disrupt everyone elses day.
Thanks for the insult, it shows your state of mind. That's weird, even for him.

One of the most regular barbs thrown at liberals is that they act disruptively or unlawfully...or if they question or criticise authority they are anti-cop or don't support the troops or want to destroy America.Complete nonsense of course but whatever....To a conservative the worst possible crime is not accepting, without question, instructions from 'authority'.The soon to be rich doctor already has his lawyers ready to sick 'em on the soon to be defendents.

Now put that into perspective with the Bundy's at Nevada and Oregon.

Essentially, by not accepting authority they're anti-American.
It's a point of difference that Conservatives draw between themselves and Liberals
Great. Who hired them, trained them and was responsible for them?FIrst of all, it was not Chicago's LEOs.....
