Even if people don't agree with Phil, they should still support his right to express himself. That is where political correctness enters the picture. It's all about intolerance of differing views.

Political correctness has long been a method used by past dictators to control information. It's closely tied with propaganda. It's about the reigning political party attempting to shape public opinion, not by facts and allowing people to draw their own conclusions, but by impugning those who disagree with their narrative.

The left rarely quotes the bible, but we've seen that lately in a lame attempt to win arguments. Palin was bashed for putting up a Christmas tree and they continue to claim that Jesus would support their definition of social justice. Of course, equality and equal opportunity is social justice. Taking care of the disabled is part of that. Somehow the left has changed the meaning to support their socialist agenda and they think social justice is equal outcomes. Not only is that impossible, but it brings everyone down because they insist that those who currently carry the load will continue to do so even though others will benefit more than they for their efforts. However, it's currently political correct to bash Christians and "rednecks." Funny that hate speech isn't tolerated until it comes to the left's political enemies, then name calling and painting with broad brushes are perfectly okay.

It's all political correctness. It's about re-writing history, assuming they are always right and anyone disagreeing is evil or greedy and they seek to instill fear in those who tend to speak their minds. A tyrant cannot tolerate free thinking or anyone questioning them. Political correctness is used as a tool to silence the opposition by encouraging public ridicule of anyone who goes against them.

The message is shut up or face the wrath of the PC crowd.

Currently, they defend Muslims, who have far more archaic and oppressive views. Muslims behead gays and Christians. They severely oppress and torture women. Honor killings continue. The only reason I can think of that it's currently politically correct to defend Muslims is that it somehow fits with the current agenda. Once the goal is met, Muslims will be as big of a target as Christians.

Political correctness is selective. It favors whatever the talking points of the left are at any given time. That is why Biden can make a clearly racist statement about Obama, saying he was the first clean and articulate black, yet someone else calling Obama arrogant was called on the carpet because they assumed that he meant 'uppity' and since that word is on their list of racist words (an ever-expanding list), they called the guy racist.

Biden was way more politically incorrect, according to their own rules, but they don't call their own out. PC only applies to their political enemies.

That is why Obama can say raising the debt ceiling indicates a failure of leadership during the Bush years and be cheered. Then he can claim that not raising the debt ceiling means that Republicans don't care when he's in office and he still gets cheered.

It's why the Dems can say that using the nuclear option to stop filibuster disenfranchises the minority under other presidents, but that it's the only fair thing to do under Obama.

It's why Dems can get away with calling Bush a dictator for NSA spying and yet say Obama cares because he increased the spying and intrusion on our privacy.

PC says you cannot criticize Obama. Period.

Political correctness is dangerous because it makes people afraid to speak out. You could lose your job, receive hate mail and even threats for saying something that the angry left doesn't like.
