What would you do with the second amendment?

What should be done with the second amendment?

  • Repeal it and replace it with an amendment banning all guns in private hands

  • Repeal it and give Congress unlimited power over regulating guns, including banning them

  • Give States the power to decide what their gun rights and restrictions should be

  • Leave it, Congress already regulates guns, but they should not have the power to ban them

  • Follow the second amendment and declare most or all current gun regulations Unconstitutional

Results are only viewable after voting.
Leave it alone and institute sensible gun regulations
The problems with your so called "sensible" gun regulations are that they only affect law abiding citizens.
Do you think gangbangers and school shooters are also skillful gunsmiths? If we eradicated assault weapons, do you I,agile basement gun factories cranking them out?

So your idea is to go door to door searching for guns and all the storage units in the country along with all the backyards.

Like Australia did? The result was rape at historic levels. You mean women getting raped is civilized?

Where ya from Bloke? Putting another shrimp on the barbie, you rascal?
Australia is a lot safer than the US, so are most of the civilized world hillbilly.

Not for women it appears. Not nearly as safe as it was.
Ever been there? Is miles safer than the US. But if it makes feel a little better go ahead.
I know tons of Australians that live in the IS and are disgusted by the gun violence in the US.

TONS OF AUSTRALIANS. Yep, you just can't make these things up. Try living with the facts some time.

Why then does Australia have TWICE the violent crimes as the United States?

The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S.

Britain's violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed.

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries.

The figures comes on the day new Home Secretary Alan Johnson makes his first major speech on crime, promising to be tough on loutish behaviour.

The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, Australia 920 and South Africa 1,609.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: 'This is a damning indictment of this government's comprehensive failure over more than a decade to tackle the deep rooted social problems in our society, and the knock on effect on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Lol

I'm not surprised at all that you find the commission of violent crime, funny.

A familiar primrose path most gun lovers like to venture down.

I suppose the weapons banned in the 1996 Assault Weapons Ban were not really 'assault weapons'. I suppose, in popular parlance the term 'assault weapons' is widely misunderstood to.

Nice try.

That's 100 percent true. That's one reason it was allowed to expire. No one could come up with a viable legal description of an assault weapon.

We already have sensible gun regulations.

Obviously, that does not work so how about making schools a hard target instead of soft targets?

Let's say we do. Who is going to pay for it. Arming the Teachers is a bust. Most won't accept being armed. It's against their grain. Are you going to have armed guards with watch towers? Will they look like Prisons? Are you willing to have your pay taxed to pay for this? It's going to be very expensive.

Or are you going to help find other solutions.

I can see you haven't handled one or the other. The Mini-14 is downright cumbersome in comparison. There are some stark differences that makes the Mini-14 NOT the weapon of choice.

Ban guns and join the civilised world. If not, keep counting the bodies and make sure you have enough plastic bags.

You will note that Canada, Australia and Europe have an extremely low homicide rate.

gun-death-rates-chart.jpg

There you have it. Outside of war torn areas and South America, the US leads the world in gun related Homicides. Per Capita, Australia, Britain and Canada didn't even make a dent on the list. Meanwhile, only the war torn countries beat out the US per capita. So stop this nonsense of making crap up or repeating what your handlers wish for you to repeat. It's just plain wrong.

BTW, even though there are over 300,000 guns in the US which would put a gun in almost every man, woman and child's hands, only 37% of the households actually has at least one gun. Your figures just don't add up when you say that MOST people own guns. Not hardly. Just over 1/3 of the households own guns and most of the guns are the men. When you break it down further, that's less than 1/5th of the population actually have guns. There is the math.

And when mass murders take place with vehicles, do we sue Ford or perhaps Penske rental trucks? After that, we will sue beer manufacturers for DUI deaths. Maybe swimming pool and bathtub companies for drownings. Hell, why stop there? Here by the great lakes, people drown just jumping off the boat into the water for a refreshing swim. Sue the boat manufacturers too.

None of those things are designed with the express purpose of killing people and then marketed to unstable people with anger control issues.

Guns are.

Check your math again, and the question was, homicide rate, not gun homicides.

Voluntary intoxication is not a defense dumbshit. You were given the link

except it isn't voluntary intoxication.

Just like if you slip someone a roofie, that's rape. if you slip someone a crazy pill, it's not murder.

Fact is, there's no scientific validity to the anti-Pharma nuts claims that drugs are causing mass shootings, because if there were, someone would have used it as a defense.

Present your facts. You seem to not be doing that. Otherwise, you are just running off at the mouth once again.

Here ya go Duhryl

Rate of sexual violence against women has risen dramatically since 2012, ABS says

When you sign for it, that’s consent pinhead

The meaning is clear so all gun laws are unconstitutional. That said, absent incorporation progressives would be constitutionally free to attempt to ban guns at the state level. But since they insist everything be a federal issue they have no leg to stand on.

Regardless of the Constitution, however, people have the right to defend themselves.
Nonsense.

The meaning is clear as expressed by the Heller and McDonald Courts: the Second Amendment acknowledges an individual right to possess a handgun pursuant to lawful self-defense unconnected with militia service.

Measures seeking to ban handguns are un-Constitutional regardless the level of judicial review.

Moreover, state and local governments are subject to Second Amendment case law.

Again, all gun laws are not ‘un-Constitutional’ if they comport with current Second Amendment jurisprudence.
Honestly I find questions of constitutionality entirely unimportant these days. Of course those laws are unconstitutional, but what does that mean practically? Nothing.

Constitutionality is just a talking point for both sides based on whatever they're arguing. Neither side means it
Which is why the Constitution is largely irrelevant. I mean the argument is hilarious. The amendment was written over 200 years ago, but we can't know what it means yet. But since everyone essentially accepts that argument when it's convenient for them, what is the point of the Constitution?
That is the reality

You want a total ban, you butt fucking commie. Shut the fuck up. We don't need to hear anything from you but your last breath.
