Is it because cops are out to get them?
Is it because whitey hates them?
Is it because the gop holds them back?
Is it because racists post on the internet?

OR

Is it because they didn't apply themselves in school?
Is it because they chose the wrong friends?
Is it because they have bad parents?
Is it because their culture glorifies the gangster lifestyle?
Is it because they can't get a job because of their lifestyle?
Is it because their image is more important than their future?
Is it because they don't value any life?

OR

Is it just someone else's fault just because it is?

Okay, serious answer time.

The Science of Why Cops Shoot Young Black Men Mother Jones

Sometimes you're asked to sort African American faces and "good" words to one side of the screen. Other times, black faces are to be sorted with "bad" words. As words and faces keep flashing by, you struggle not to make too many sorting mistakes.

And then suddenly, you have a horrible realization. When black faces and "bad" words are paired together, you feel yourself becoming faster in your categorizing—an indication that the two are more easily linked in your mind. "It's like you're on a bike going downhill," Amodio says, "and you feel yourself going faster. So you can say, 'I know this is not how I want to come off,' but there's no other response option."

You think of yourself as a person who strives to be unprejudiced, but you can't control these split-second reactions. As the milliseconds are being tallied up, you know the tale they'll tell: When negative words and black faces are paired together, you're a better, faster categorizer. Which suggests that racially biased messages from the culture around you have shaped the very wiring of your brain.

This community study has been ongoing since 2000, and the participants are college students or residents in Illinois and Colorado. In the study, participants are instructed to press one of two buttons whenever a person appears on the screen. Participants are instructed that if the person, or target, is armed, they should press a button labeled “Shoot.” If the target is unarmed, they are told to press a button labeled “Don’t shoot.” In either case, participants are instructed to respond as quickly as possible. To increase participants’ attention during the task, and to motivate appropriate behavior, participants earned points for correct responses and lost points for errors.

The results of this ongoing community study show clear patterns of racial bias by college students and community residents. First, community participants showed bias in the speed with which they could respond correctly to the targets. Community participants were faster to press “Shoot” in response to an armed target if that target was black rather than white, whereas they were faster to press “Don’t shoot” in response to an unarmed target if that target was white rather than black. Second, community participants showed bias in the nature of the mistakes they made. In response to an armed target, community participants occasionally made a mistake by pressing “Don’t shoot.” They were more likely to make such a mistake if the armed target was white rather than black. By contrast, the community participants were more likely to mistakenly shoot an unarmed target if he was black rather than white. In essence, community participants were faster and more accurate when responding to targets that fit the kinds of stereotypes that the authors believe are prevalent in U.S. society (armed blacks and unarmed whites), but they were slower and more likely to make mistakes in response to targets that deviated from these stereotypes (unarmed blacks and armed whites).

It's society's fault for everything not the individual...
At least that's what's been going around here lately.

No its simply because a lot of white cops are feral racists like you.

Off duty black cops in New York feel threat from fellow police Reuters

"The officers said this included being pulled over for no reason, having their heads slammed against their cars, getting guns brandished in their faces, being thrown into prison vans and experiencing stop and frisks while shopping. The majority of the officers said they had been pulled over multiple times while driving. Five had had guns pulled on them."

And you guys wonder why black people don't vote for Republicans.

@ thedouchebagisin,

we already know why. they don't like whitey so they rape, rob, murder and beat white people.

but when the white person is armed there is a tragedy. if the white person dies it's just a statistic no one seems to care about

Because they lack daddies and thusly commit a disproportionate number of crimes.

Not seeing how the two are related... If it were, the 50% of white people who get divorced would be the source of a huge crime wave.

And, no, most of them have fathers in their lives.
No, most blacks don't have fathers in their lives while most whites still do. Democrats are working hard to make it worse for whites, too.

.

The soft bigotry of reduced expectations. Deflecting every time an American Black does something wrong (fatherless Black American children an excellent example), effectively enabling further bad behavior. Isolating American Blacks from society from birth. Victimizing a group of people simply because of the color of their skin for generations now. Attacking anyone who dares to challenge that race. Exacerbating existing animosities and creating new animosities.

A true tragedy.

Those studies are of course true, that is how people perceive each race. The problem here is twofold.

First, those on the right want to pretend that those studies don't mean anything
Second, those on the left want to pretend like the disparity in so many different areas of life between the races simply either isn't true, or is due to something other than black people.

Anyone who won't admit BOTH points simply isn't interested in a truthful discussion

Let's start between you and I Joe. I admit, in those studies, people are more likely to say shoot when the person is black.

Do you admit that 12% of the population committing 50% of the crime means that those 12% have a problem of their own making?

Because they don't like the fact that we don't cherry coat bullshit.
I expected such a response from your side. Shame on me for pointing out the obvious

Or perhaps it's because rather than try to understand and empathize with the legitimate gripes that black people have, instead you guys attempt to de - legitimize their point of view, stereotype an entire race based on the actions of a few, and blame everything on "culture", the new politically correct way to be completely racist.
