Why do Republicans bash socialism - when it's all around them?

You all have nothing but simple rejection not any form of valid refutation. Go ahead and be mere tyrants with your majority.

The left has solutions not not excuses.

Left solutions like LA, Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit? They created poverty, high crime, homelessness and disease. Seems like the left solutions just exacerbate the problems.
The right wing is worse. I already read about "turn of the century Iron Mill

The right wing is worse. I already read about "turn of the century Iron Mill towns, for sake of capital profit."

You claim the left has solutions. Is your left solution just to claim the other side is worse? Not much of a solution. What are the solutions, drive off tourists and conventions and continue to let cities regress into more crime, drugs, homelessness, lawlessness and riots and then just claim the other side is worse?
Simply being disingenuous and claiming you are right simply because you are on the right wing, is even less convincing.

Didn’t say I was right, I asked you for solutions and gave you examples of left wing cities, the solutions in the left wing cities is higher homelessness, higher crime, filthier living conditions, higher rate of diseases, more garbage strewn through the city, more riots, higher drug problems, lower standard of living, less tourism, fewer conventions bringing money into their cities. I am simply asking if these left wing solutions in left wing towns? Is this the desired standard of the left? If it is fine, however I don’t believe they are working out well for all involved, do you?
Equal protection of the law is a solution. Solving for an economic phenomenon is also a solution.

Doesn’t seem to be working in your cities, it seems to be getting worse. Why is that?

Curious, why do you bash capitalism when it's all around you?

Dare I name some examples?

Your clothes? You paid for them using the capitalist method.
The PC or Laptop you post your garbage on? You paid for it via the capitalist method.
Your car? You more than likely paid for it via the capitalist method.
The food you eat? Paid for by the capitalist method.

You buy, the government taxes, and the seller profits.

Note that all of the examples in your OP are things instituted by government, not the free market. The free market prefers capitalism, for a reason.

Who's bashing capitalism? I engage in it everyday - just like I do socialism. America is a blend of capitalism and socialism - democratic socialism.
stop throwing democratic in front of socialism in an attempt to make it sound more appealing
socialism is socialism no matter what word you throw in front of it
it's like putting democratic in front of communism to make communism acceptable and appealing
The primary defining characteristic is workers self management.
If workers are managing themselves, this like has to be done democratically.

Freedom. Are workers managing themselves have more freedom?
fig2-1.png

Is this freedom?
Another ignorant liberal that thinks wealth is finite that one having more wealth causes another to have less

your ignorance discredits you from having any intelligent conversation on economics
go learn something then you can come back and join the discussion till then you are just embarrassing your self
Labor is finite, with limited supply.
So how can wealth be any different?

Wealth isn't labor, dumbass.

Wealth only has value when its used to buy labor.

Socialism is taxpayer funds being used collectively to benefit society as a whole, despite income, contribution, or ability.

Sounds horrible, huh?

Well I hate to be the one to tell you, but Socialism, which you have been told to fear all your life, is responsible for all this...

1. The Military/Defense - The United States military is the largest and most funded socialist program in the world. It operates thanks to our taxpayer dollars and protects the country as a whole. From the richest citizens to the homeless who sleep under the bridge. We are all protected by our military whether we pay taxes or not. This is complete socialism.

2. Highways/Roads - Those roads and highways you drive on every single day are completely taxpayer funded. Your tax dollars are used to maintain, expand, and preserve our highways and roads for every one's use. President Eisenhower was inspired by Germany's autobahn and implemented the idea right here in America. That's right, a republican president created our taxpayer funded, national highway system. This was a different time, before the republican party came down with a vicious case of rabies that never went away.

3. Public Libraries - Yes. That place where you go to check out books from conservative authors telling you how horrible socialism is, is in fact socialism. Libraries are taxpayer funded. You pay a few bucks to get a library card and you can read books for free for the rest of your life.

4. Police - Ever had a situation where you had to call the police? Then you have used a taxpayer funded socialist program. Anyone can call the police whether they pay taxes or not. They are there to protect and serve the community, not individuals. This is complete socialism on a state level, but still socialism all the same. Would you rather have to swipe your credit card before the police will help you?

5. Fire Dept. - Hopefully you have never had a fire in your home. But if you have, you probably called your local taxpayer-funded fire department to put the fire out. Like police, this is state socialism. You tax dollars are used to rescue your entire community in case of a fire. It use to be set up where you would pay a fee every month to the fire dept. for their service. If you didn't pay, they let your house burn down. Sadly, a man from Tennessee had this exact situation happen to him in 2011 because he didn't pay his $75.00 fee. I guess that small town in Tennessee would rather let people's houses burn down that resort to evil socialism. So don't take for granted the fact that you have a 24/7 fire dept. to put out your burning home thanks to socialism.

Socialism is NOT and never has been taxpayer funds used to benefit society as a whole

Socialism is government ownership of the means of production.

You keep trying this failure and keep getting schooled.

Intelligent people oppose socialism only fools support it.

And only total fools try to rewrite what words mean as you are doing.

Left knows what they're doing. When something doesn't sell, just change the definition or give it a friendly name. It works, they swallow the bait every fucking time.

"Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" - the law was so great, they had to force people in it, and since premiums skyrocketed, many lost insurance, and number of uninsured today is larger than before the law was enacted.

"American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" - also known as "stimulus bill". It was supposed to spur great recovery but instead produced persistently high unemployment, stagnant wages and the worst and longest recovery since ever, because providing handouts to politically favored special interests cant last long.

"Marketplace Fairness Act" - all about fairness. In reality, it grants states the authority to compel online and catalog retailers, regardless of where they are located, to collect sales tax at the time of a transaction.

"Violence Against Women Act" - without that law, it would be totally OK to beat the women for no reason, or maybe just because she's bitch. And if law is so vital and important for protecting women, why isn't made permanent, but it has to be reauthorized every few years.

"Patriot Act" - now we can spy on you, and if you don't support this law, you're terrorist.

You see, we are still a capitalist nation.

Nope. We're a Keynesian nation.

The article's author over there clearly lacks a grasp of economic theory and monetary policy both.

Bullshit, Keynesian nation would pay down the debts in good economic times.

Keynes has consistently called for long term solvency.
What they're supposed to do and end up doing nearly always end up being vastly different...

Who is "they"? Keynes is long dead and Keynesian economic theory is not hinged on what American politicians actually do.

Aside from that our biggest political impass to long term solvency is an insidious tax-cut cult on the Republican side. For example Obama for years was pushing for Grand Bargain, offering up spending cuts for tax-raises, but Republicans just could not touch it on their side because tax-raises are a political scuicide for them.

Isn't that reason why he "offered" raising taxes? You're presenting it like he was doing them a favor. LOL.

Obama didn't offer spending cuts, he was forced into it.

You mean publicly funded, socialist Sherif?

To revolving eyed neoliberals anything funded by taxes, local or national, is what they think of as "socialism”. Just because it's publicly funded, it doesn't mean it's socialist. Law enforcement, or fire department doesn't have to be publicly funded, correct?

Let me elaborate. We're talking about collectivism vs. individualism. When Adam Smith wrote about the freedom in market systems, he mentioned the need to use that freedom in caring for others. On the opposing side of the argument, communism developed in the shape of marxism a very collectivist ideology, where everyone who works towards having a career that might make him better off than less ambitious or less fortunate people is betraying his social class. In the Soviet Union that would lead to the Gulag.

In organizations like the police and the military there need to be element of collectivism, such as "no man left behind” and "serve and protect” But that is far from being socialist. Rather, it means protecting the individual rights enshrined in laws and in the constitution.

You lefties are trying to change the definition of socialism as it's something that is good and acceptable and already among us. It is not. Just another leftist lie.

I don't see a lot of Democrats demanding public ownership of all production and distribution.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. There's a significant difference between Venezuela and Canada, Australia, Denmark & Germany. Significant.

Really? What do you think Medicare for all is?

Then there is at least one beloved far-leftist Socialist who disagrees with you. What Socialists want and what they'll say out loud are two different things. As you well know.

Wrong. Look at the post I quoted. He said 100% socialism.

Is single payer socialism? Yes. In one area. But 100% socialism would mean government control over all production & distribution.

Perhaps you should take it up with that poster.
