Some Americans are descended from British colonists and there are many settlers of Manchu origin in the west. These are not cowboys and they support mostly the left. You really think all Americans are cowboys?
While true he's a mimic, Trump's political stripe is no less a reaganista , reaganism, reaganomics......~S~He is a chameleon. Not being a representative of the Way of Reagan, he pretended to be Reagan's heir.
This is not an illusion. I know that Reagan changed the world and he changed it for the better. Everyone felt it, just not everyone understands where the wind was blowing in those days.Cultures often glorify illusion and obscure reality. The spirit of a time eclipses hard facts. That was never truer than how the "Reagan Years" are viewed.
Americans, in general, are naïve. and willfully so. They refuse to engage in intellectual penetration into their fond beliefs. It is like a nation of adolescents, only armed to the teeth. The country doesn't truly understand of what is could be capable, both for good or for ill. It hasn't yet dealt with what it has already done in both regards. It is a great nation, and humankind is lucky that it, and not other powers, has dominated the world stage since WWII. That does not excuse great and harmful errors and excesses.
We do have a tendency to romanticize the past, often to revisionism ....~S~Cultures often glorify illusion and obscure reality. The spirit of a time eclipses hard facts. That was never truer than how the "Reagan Years" are viewed.
Stop pretending you know anything about AmericansSome Americans are descended from British colonists and there are many settlers of Manchu origin in the west. These are not cowboys and they support mostly the left.
In addition, there are blacks who are also not cowboys.
But the core of America is cowboy and the spirit is cowboy.
you'd be far from alone Rup.....~S~Why don't I romanticize the times of Roosevelt's totalitarianism and Kennedy's hippy-pigstery?
