Why I'm a Democrat

buh-Billions later, we have no recipts to show where the money went....
OH.....
And there Are No Jobs.

psst, jobs are these things created in the private sector.

You're wrong. Plenty of private contractors are building roads, repariing roads and bridges, installing storm drains, and repairing the infrastructure in communities all over the U.S. with funds provided by the Recovery Act.
"psst, jobs are these things created in the private sector" is simply one of the platitudes used by the power elite of this country to convince people like you to vote against your best interest.
To post there is no record of where the money went is a lie; any ten year old can point you out to a source where federal dollars are being used in you community (see: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009).

Where to begin. I don't 'do' LSD, never did. Yet, I was born and raised in the shadow of Kezan which is not far from the Haight-Ashbury. I was 19 during the "Summer of Love" (1968) and on active duty with the US Navy. I'd already completed my first two years at UC Berkely, having graduated from a SF High School in June 1965.
Upon seperation from active service I completed my BA in Poli Sci at UC and eraned an MA at San Francisco St. University. I went to work as a "law enforcement" officer, after earning my BA, and spent the next 30+ years as a deputy, supervisor, manager and commander, retiring in Dececmber 2005.
Daveman may laugh all he wants, and oddude and the others have the right to call me an idiot. I refrain from ad hominem attacks, but for the moment want each of those who suggest I'm an idiot to ponder for a moment their accomplishments.
In 5 months, I'll have 20 years active duty in the US Air Force.

So, yeah, I think I have enough horsepower to call you an idiot.
How 'active' you've been is questionable.

He's actively been sucking on the government teat for the past 20 years. A big Hooraah for hypocrisy.

The Republican Party needs to put country first and that won't happen. Their only policy that has been in effect, and has been affective, is working to make Obama fail. Every idea has been ridiculed and falsely characterized as "Socialism" or worse, and every need all of us seem to be concerned with can be fixed by the one magic bullet held by the conserviatives: Tax Cuts.

Serously, how could anyone support a party lead by McConnell and Boehner? Two pols who take their lead from demagogues, Limbaugh and Beck; and populists, like Palin and Gingrich?

While America 'burns', the Republicans 'fiddle'; Becks rally Sunday was the most recent 'tune' ("God is Great"; hey Glen, that's been done. See Iran for how well that worked out).
Past tunes: Obama is a Muslim! He was born in the Africa! He is a Socialist! He is a Marxist! He hates white people! OMG, he played golf!
And all of these tunes are played back over and over by the Loony Tune Players on this message board.

So, what should be done?

A huge influx of capital, both from the government and private investors in at least three national projects: Rebuilding the electrical grid; building inter and intra urban railroads and canals for the transport of goods, recreation and flood control; and the building of health care centers in each congressional district across America providing preventative medicine and health care education.
Image the possibilities, jobs for decades, less dependence on foreign oil, and a healthier happier citizenry. The opposite of hate and fear, the only other policy the Republican Party seems to have.

Another lib-tard that hasn't been paying any attention: You know your party--Barack Obama--Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid had the opportunity to change the electric grid in this country--(btw) not rebuild it--we already have one--LOL. So 11 billion in the so-called 787 billion dollar stimulus bill was dedicated to changing the electric grid--when all experts in the field stated they needed at least 111 BILLION to complete.

Instead--we have watched billions of dollars being wasted by this administration and congress. Pork--earmarks--political paybacks and even bonuses paid to AIG//Fannie//Freddie executives that all brought this economy to it's knees.

It's the democrat policies that have crashed this economy and it has been proven time and time again. So you just go ahead and keep being a democrat and playing pin the tail on the donkey in the voting booth--because it will be you that gets to explain your own voting record to your kids and grandchildren--:clap2:

You do the same. Explain how you supported a one billion dollar embassy in Iraq and denied basic medical care to American citizens at home; explain the 10 billion dollars a month spent each month in Iraq - from 2003 until January, 2009 - for combat operations after your president (Booooooooosh) declared "Mission Accomplished".
Explain the "pork" and earmarks authorized by the Congress under Republican control from 1995 until 2007.
And explain to your kids what a hypocrite is, if your not sure look in a mirror.

What makes you so certain that oreo supported/opposed all that, other than your extremely intellectually arrested and paranoid Hegelian hallucinations?

Seriously.....I gotta hear this.

I've been TDY a total of about 2 1/2 years. Headed the Maintenance Shop for the largest contingency power plant operation in Air Force history, 64 units totaling 48 megawatts. Successfully caught and stopped 12 fighters, saving half a billion dollars worth of jets and 18 aircrew with aircraft arresting gear that I maintained and certified as operational. Currently I manage a fleet of a billion dollars worth of contingency assets.

So, how active I've been is not questionable, except by butthurt lounge lizards.

Yay! One more dumbfuck leftist who can't tell the difference between someone soaking up tax dollars and someone earning his paycheck.

Yeah, we know. It must all completely run itself, since you spend all your time on internet message boards. And when you get carpal tunnel, the taxpayers will pay to fix you up so that you can continue to furiously type your disdain for working Americans.

Bitter much?

You must be a real downer to be around in real life. I always wonder how folks can be so utterly miserable and still not have succeeded in committing suicide.

'sOK, though. You're not alone in this thread.

So what will the R's do if they secure leadership in the House and/or Senate? Past performance cannot predict future performance, but if past performance is any indicaton, they will do nothing. Promises will and are being made - remember when Bush promised to return honor to the White House (hmmm, do you think Beck may have ...but I digress) and would never engage in nation building as Clinton did in the Balkins (hey, he didn't, but history is always able to be rewritten, ask the minister of truth, Rush Limbaugh).
So far we have heard nothing but platitudes from the R's. Will we ever hear actually policy ideas and a real fiscal plan? Not likely, it's easy to say cut taxes, cut spending; yet, in the past their performance has been less than expected when it comes to cutting spending.

Is that anything like your disdain for military members?

Fuck off, shithead. Go convert Lady Gaga's latest into Muzak so the drunks at the Rumba Room can nod off into their bar napkins.

Hey, why don't you post this one more time? Maybe we'll all register Democrat!

Hey, why don't you post this one more time? Maybe we'll all register Democrat!

Why would you believe I want everyone to be a registered 'D' and vote for only Democrats? That's was the theme intent of Tom Delay, who hoped for a continuous Republican majority. A goal he pursued by hook or crook - mostly crook.

Unlike you, I support pragmatic ideas, solutions to problems, not an ideology. Of course I am registered as a Democrat, primarily because I believe in government policies which provide the greatest good to the greatest number.
Yes, the far left has extreme ideas, but no less extreme than the fringe on the right (not the correct) side of issues.

You, a non-com on active duty, support an ideology which doesn't support you in deed - of course 'they' praise you in speech, but that's about it. I'm a Vietnam Vet, I didn't serve in country, I served on DD's (anti-sub warfare in WestPac). But I have first hand knowledge of how the returning vets were treated, and I don't mean they were spit upon by hippies - though I suspect that did occur. The Reagan Administration put restrictions on the care and treatement of vets, making it for the first time the resposibility of the vet to prove his disability was 'service connected' before receiving treatment.
Every see a vet with PTSD, sometimes self treating with drugs and/or alcohol having the ability to prove their 'problem' was service connected?

As for my bringing this thread back to the OP, what's insane about that? Efforts by the RW wackos to hyjack this and every other thread which question the platitudes they believe will win the battle of words, I simply won't allow that to happen.

Notice, not one on your side has any ideas or solutions other than to parrot the same unproven ideology of Reagan, an ideology that helped put us in our current mess.
