We know the effectiveness of the vaccine wanes relatively quickly, and that the boosters offer decreasing degrees of "protection" since they are just boosting the original vaccine against the variants. And as GG pointed COVID ended because this is how pandemics go, about 2 years. We didn't have a vaccine to get out of the flu pandemic and it eerily followed the basic same path as COVID. Crazy.

There was no "boom" there was a huge Omicron wave that spread like wildfire this winter, though strain thankfully was not as deadly as Delta, esp for vaccinated. Omicron has now infected everyone there was to infect, and burned out leaving population with high level of immunity to that strain for now.

B2 is the newest variant - China has now instituted huge shutdowns again and Europe is seeing a spike in infections.

Or as Trump puts it - it will magically disappear any second now.
