Do liberals even like this country?

It seems pretty normal for some people to recognize better methods for doing things, either by a neighbor or a neighboring nation. Liberals keep trying to improve America for Americans, sort of the happiness thing that Jefferson mentioned. Who do conservatives try to improve America for?

If what liberals consider improvements are already in place in other countries, why do liberals stay here? Why don't liberals move to some of these places for a few years first, and then come back and tell us how great it was? Or maybe, it's so great there that they would never move back!

Because it seems to me that liberals want to change this country on so many levels that I wonder if they hate being here.
You just don't get it. There is nothing wrong with looking at how programs work in other countries and deciding on whether it could work for us.

James Madison, in researching the Constitution, did the same thing

The country was not really formed just yet.

Now I can understand one or two things, but when I discuss politics with liberals, it seems like they want to change everything, especially major things: Education, firearms issues, elections, police conduct, healthcare, immigration, two-parrty system, taxation, everything.

It seems that no matter what we do here, it's always better somewhere else. If I were a person who believed the same thing; that this country is wrong in every possible way, I would hate it here and hate the country. I would leave.

Liberals created this country in 1776

While the country at that time was the best our founders could do. Liberals realized we could do better......end slavery, women's rights, worker rights, civil rights, environmental protections, gay rights.

Conservatives fought every inch of the way

The Republican party was the anti-slavery party for crying out loud. Who created the EPA, a liberal?
That's because back then, the GOP was the northern LIBERAL party. Not the party of traitors, the KKK and the Alt Right, which it is today.

Of course, that must be it. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I've never met a conservative in my life that didn't love liberty above all else and thought we should be more like some other country where you have to beg the government to be permitted to take your baby where it can get the healthcare it needs to live even if you are paying for it all yourself.

I've never met a Liberal who didn't believe that globalist-socialist big government big brother control wasn't the total solution to everything in directing their lives for them because free men and markets cannot be trusted to do things right for themselves.

You will note Ray that you've still to get an honest answer to your question! That is because the prerequisite to being a liberal is to have some weakness in the mind, bad wiring, that while sitting in class at their favorite university, their angry, ranting professor railing about the wrongs of the United States does not push them over the edge!

After that, they are so busy ranting about what America needs to change and fix, they are always too busy to stop and seriously reconsider their own positions by critical analysis,. any attempt short-circuits their higher levels of reasoning------- the basic solution to that is to simply stop and remember what their professor taught them: that they are smarter, better, more educated and thus have the moral high ground in everything! So no need to really answer, let alone justify anything they think! They are "right" by default. It is that intellectual disconnect that has cost them the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court and the White House. America is turning its back on them and their failed ideology, yet it is their very ideology which precludes their seeing the roof of their house caving in all around them, so they continue to stack even more weight on its timbers.

Conservatives love America and want more of it, bigger, bolder and even better. Liberals believe America was a huge mistake, the cause of all problems, wrong from it's inception, and must pay reparations now to all for the great harm we've done by separating from the very Europe we broke away from.

No matter what Trump does here, its always wrong. He is too busy watching TV and playing golf. He really has no interest in anything.

There is NO OTHER country that has excelled and maintained human rights like the USA. NOT ONE. However, many would argue that the left has worked hard to give China every advantage to try to catch up.

Why would we want to copy lesser countries?

Which highlights my point that you never see conservatives or Republicans say how great it is somewhere else. Only liberals use that line on a consistent basis. You are correct, we love our country, we love our Constitution, we love the concept our founders had that created this greatest place in the entire world; and liberals even argue that point. Some have told me this is not the greatest country in the world. Other countries are much better than ours.

What made the U.S. great was our willingness to accept elements of other cultures and make them ours
We have taken other languages, ideas, foods, entertainment and adopted them as our own

We are capable of doing the same with healthcare

Actually, there are
We were one of the last civilized societies to abandon slavery and it took a Civil War to end it. We maintained blacks as second class citizens for 100 years after that. We were one of the last countries to give women the vote. We are one of the few civilized societies to maintain the death penalty

There is nothing wrong in looking at other societies in order to improve our own

No on so many levels. What made our country great is being able to reap the rewards of hard work; the idea that anybody can become wealthy; that freedom is paramount to all other issues; that everybody gets to choose their own path in this country.

No, we do not adopt ideas from other countries. We have our own ideas separate from any other place in the world. That's why there is only one America and nobody even comes close to our success and social structure.

I don't want to live in Sweden, I don't want to live in France, I don't want to live in Germany, I want to live in the United States of America. More importantly is preserving our country from liberals so we don't end up like those other countries.

You must live in a cave if you can't see the contributions made by Irish, Italian, Black, Hispanic, Jewish,German, Chinese and dozens of other cultures into our own
We did not force them to a monolithic America...we evolved

I've been saying this for years. Why aren't bed wetters waiting for Cubans to land on the South Florida coast so they can recycle their inner tubes and swim south? They can just as easily cross the Peace Bridge into Canada and claim asylum.

Get the fuck out parasites, you don't like it here, we don't like you here, everyone will be better off.

America was created around new ideas from the Age of Enlightenment or Age of Reason, and those ideas are liberal ideas as put forth in our Declaration of Independence.

Absolutely correct. Cuba would be a liberal paradise if you think about what they'd like to do to our country.

Nobody has guns but the government. Nobody has money but the government. Everybody is equal; equally poor. They have socialized healthcare and it doesn't cost you a dime. You never have to worry about real opposition politics, your guy wins every election. It's perfect for liberals.

And Conservatives love Somalia
No government regulation, all the guns you want, low wages

What conservative ever said they want no government regulations? What conservative ever said Somalia does things better than the US?
