Not really. It's R+10
Well Democrats just swept the Virginia state elections.
And..they are now looking for a candidate to go up against this tea bagger.
Should be interesting.

It's possible Virginia's open primary had something to do with Cantor's loss but-----but getting Virginia's 7th Congressional Dems to come out to vote against Cantor seems pretty close to immm--possible to me but... we'll see what the analysts-----the analysts -giggle/snort- that predicted Cantor was up 10-20 and even 30%.
Dumbass Republicans shoulda known Republicamandered districts will eventually go whacka-doodle but-----but this is great - in a district in which Romney received 57% of the vote in 2012, the Dems are now in play, WTG P-tardiers.

Former congressman Ben Jones (D-Ga.), better known as "Cooter" from Dukes of Hazzard, has a plan to knock Eric Cantor out of the House. He's urging his fellow Democrats to cross over and vote for a tea party-backed candidate in Virginia's primary election.
Cooter, who ran against Cantor in 2002, has penned an open letter calling upon Democrats in his former Virginia district to vote in the open primary next Tuesday for tea party opponent Dave Brat in order to defeat U.S. House Majority Leader Cantor. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_5463196.html
Really, Peach....this is your arguement?I will be very interested to see how big a part the Open Primary system played...

Brat will most likely win, a brand new member who has never held office. Learning the Rules of Order, and pending legislation, will take up half his term. "What is a Bill? "How do you propose to an amendment? If you don't propose to it, why is the word used anyway"?

Those were state wide races. This is one Congressional district heavily favoring the Republican Party. The Republicans also just won control of the State Senate.

Crossing party lines to vote in an open primary has a long tradition in the solidly one-party South, Cooter argues in his letter. "y voting for David Brat in the Seventh District Republican primary, we Democrats, independents, and Libertarians can make a big difference in American politics," he argues. "It is your right to cast that vote. It is an 'open' primary and it doesnt preclude anyone from voting anyway they wish in November. It may be the only way to empower those who want to make a statement about the dysfunctional Congress and 'politics as usual.'"
Cooter Has A Plan To Unseat Eric Cantor. It's So Crazy It Just Might Work.

Lindsay Graham is much more a "moderate" than Cantor, yet he squashed 6 others with 59% of the vote. I see no pattern, just one upset.

Not an argument, a statement as to the wisdom of replacing members of Congress with seniority, and knowledge of legislation, with wet behind the ears newcomers. The ELECTORATE'S DECISION ALWAYS. To expand, new viewpoints are always good for Congress, no member should OWN a seat, but with an influx of new members, there will always be a training period.
