How come democrats are anti-education?

The correct word is "editions", you dumbass! Why should I waste time conversing with a moron? Apparently that is all I am doing.
Get a dictionary- addition is when you add rooms to a school-Jesus you are thick. Editions IS for books. If it is so important to you that you have the last word, then I'll give it to you-just post "sorry".

That is NOT what you said because adding additions to the school would have nothing to do with the availability of the book, which was just a deflection on your part in the first place! You fucked up and now will not admit it! KMA!
Tell you what-get another poster to read our posts and if they find I am wrong I will admit it-if they find you are wrong, will you admit it? Fellow posters, please join the conversation!
Yea,h, you can add additions of a book to the single edition in the library..

WTF are you talking about?

Additions to a book? What's the matter? You haven't proved your stupidity today?
Just to see you use your elegant speaking abilities .

I've always found the most humorous lack of education the "lost cause" myth. Where it seems that those fighting the hardest to keep statues of those founding fathers and leaders of the Confederacy so we "don't forget our history" have the most warped, and least factual beliefs on it.

Say what?

The only reason why you want them removed is a page right out of 1984, you want the democrats evil past out of public view

.

No it's because they were people who renounced their citizenship of the United States to form a rebellion that waged a war against the USA, killing hundreds of thousands of American men women and children for their specific cause of protecting an expanding the institution of race based slavery.

Likewise if in 100 years people want to build statues to the "misguided actions" of the 9/11 terrorists, I think those should be removed from public space if that is allowed to happen. Likewise for monuments built to Benedict Arnold, Nidal Hassan, and other Americans who rebelled and took American lives.

Just like how the US removed its statues and monuments to the British monarchy, and Germany removed its monuments to Hitler.

I do get the 1984 comparison. Where big brother was building their monuments and signs to attempt to rewrite history. Likewise in the civil rights area most of these monuments were erected in order to attempt to rewrite history with the lost cause myths and show those free black people who is really in charge in the south.

I'm just not sure why you think that the big brother method was acceptable and should be followed.

I gave you a chance to redeem yourself, but you would rather yell or you are afraid to be proved wrong. Any further communication is a waste of time. Good day to you, sir.

The SCHOOL had two additions-if you are going to comment, at least READ the post! And your attitude is closed to any new information so good luck-and for the record, I never bashed the educational system, in fact I taught in it for a while. I find your lack of faith in other posters disturbing.

True, but I think you confused Admiral Chuckles. The additions in question were to a building-one addition in the seventies and one addition in the nineties. The book never had any edition-it was too old.

Lol talk about revise history, your people were fighting for the right to keep blacks as slaves in chains and today you are trying to remove statues of them from public view because youre ashamed of them.

Destroy culture? By having kids focus on classes that will get them a good job. Comical reply.
By refusing to teach them history.
You POS did the same thing to the Native Americans, to the Rom, to Cambodians...and to various and assorted other bothersome independent cultures.

Who said refusing to teach it? I'm saying increase the number of stem classes in high school and don't make kids headed in those fields inundated with history classes. As I told my kids emphasize your math and science and get a b in the rest because that's what they were going into.

Yes as an American I am against trying to rewrite history and portray those who started a rebellion killing hundreds of thousands of American men women and children in order to protect and expand the institution of raise base slavery.

Yes I would rather we teach actual history, rather than promoting lie that those people were hero's deserving of monuments.

And like your 1984 reference, I am against attempting to rewrite history like those who put up those monuments attempted.

So do you think that they should be honored in public places where we can destroy history and try and rewrite it? Or do you think that instead we should ensure that the actual history of what those horrible people did is taught in books and museums?

Another interesting propoganda revision is the bit that Democrats have always been liberal. Southern dems (the ones wanting smaller govt, states rights, lower taxes, rural population what was majority white, etc) called themselves the Conservative Democrats at the time. The Republicans often joined and caucased with the Progressive Party. In the early to mid 1900s you had liberals and conservatives in both parties. The south has always been conservative. Under every party that has secured their votes. When Democrats began moving liberal, many left the party to form the Dixiecrats. Who in their own words felt Democrats were abandoning their conservative principles. Barry Goldwater started off that conservative push for Republicans by campaigning with dixiecrats (those same ones who were building statues to Civil war leaders calling them the greatest men ever to attempt to rewrite history). And those votes went from conservative Democrats to dixiecrats, to Republicans.

Which is why the "mass migration" myth (the one that urban cities like NYC and Chicago were conservative and the south was liberal and they all moved from places like Alabama to San Fran) is such a joke.

Okay, What is a STEM class?
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

I think a strong stem foundation is great. But yes I think history needs to be taught. And source based history is a great way.

Instead of a textbook for example needing to say "Texas fought in the civil war over tariffs, states rights and a bit of slavery", show them Texas' article of secession. Where they don't mention tariffs. Where the states rights are spelled out (right to travel with slaves, right to have fugitive slaves returned, right to not have to deal with "the unnatural feeling of hostility to these Southern States and their beneficent and patriarchal system of African slavery" and the "debasing doctrine of equality".

Show the minutes from their secession conventions where the leading secessionists said why they were leaving in their own words. Show the speeches of their secession commissioners sent out to spread the word on why Texas was seceding.

Nothing liberal. Nothing Conservative. Just straight from the mouths of those who lived and led it.

I am specifically talking about U.S. history.

Reading these threads over the past 16 years in these forums, liberals keep on saying over and over the same ignorant propaganda.

Its like have they ever even bothered to read a history book?

Examples:

1. High taxes and Unions in the 1950~1980

Why do they ignore WWII , the world was in ruins, the only standing country to produce was The U.S.A.

Why do they ignore the lack of regulations? Lack of government agency's like the EPA that was started by Nixion? Why they ignore the lack of Quality control..any one with a few bucks could start a company in a garage and build an empire?

Why do they ignore the fact no one paid those high taxes?

Why do they ignore the fact the world caught up?

Why do they ignore the fact no one wants to work for private Unions?

2. Why do democrats ignore their own history? What is the big deal?

How many democrats know that following the Civil War, 23 blacks -- 13 of them ex-slaves -- were elected to Congress, all as Republicans?

The first black Democrat was not elected to Congress until 1935, from the state of Illinois. The first black congressional Democrat from a Southern state was not elected until 1973.

How many democrats know, in 1854, passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act?

This overturned the Missouri Compromise and allowed for the importation of slaves into the territories. Disgusted with the passage of this Act, free-soilers and anti-slavery members of the Whig and Democratic parties founded the Republican Party -- not just to stop the spread of slavery, but to eventually abolish it.

How many democrats know that blacks founded the Texas Republican Party?

On July 4, 1867, in Houston, Texas, 150 blacks and 20 whites formed the party. No, not the Black Texas Republican Party, they founded the Texas Republican Party. Blacks across Southern states also founded the Republican parties in their states.

How many democrats know Fugitive slave laws?

In 1850, Democrats passed the Fugitive Slave Law. If merely accused of being a slave, even if the person enjoyed freedom all of his or her life (as approximately 11 percent of blacks did just before the Civil War), the person lost the right to representation by an attorney, the right to trial by jury, and the right to habeas corpus.

How many democrats know Emancipation?

Republican President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War. In 1865, the 13th Amendment emancipating the slaves was passed with 100 percent of Republicans (88 of 88 in the House, 30 of 30 in the Senate) voting for it. Only 23 percent of Democrats (16 of 66 in the House, 3 of 8 in the Senate) voted for it.

How many democrats know Civil rights laws?

In 1868, the 14th Amendment was passed giving the newly emancipated blacks full civil rights and federal guarantee of those rights, superseding any state laws. Every single voting Republican (128 of 134 -- with 6 not voting -- in the House, and 30 of 32 -- with 2 not voting -- in the Senate) voted for the 14th Amendment. Not a single Democrat (zero of 36 in the House, zero of 6 in the Senate) voted for it.

How many democrats knowRight to vote?

When Southern states balked at implementing the 14th Amendment, Congress came back and passed the 15th Amendment in 1870, guaranteeing blacks the right to vote. Every single Republican voted for it, with every Democrat voting against it.

Ku Klux Klan? In 1872 congressional investigations, Democrats admitted beginning the Klan as an effort to stop the spread of the Republican Party and to re-establish Democratic control in Southern states. As PBS' "American Experience" notes, "In outright defiance of the Republican-led federal government, Southern Democrats formed organizations that violently intimidated blacks and Republicans who tried to win political power. The most prominent of these, the Ku Klux Klan, was formed in Pulaski, Tenn., in 1865." Blacks, who were all Republican at that time, became the primary targets of violence.

Jim Crow laws? Between 1870 and 1875, the Republican Congress passed many pro-black civil rights laws. But in 1876, Democrats took control of the House, and no further race-based civil rights laws passed until 1957. In 1892, Democrats gained control of the House, the Senate and the White House, and repealed all the Republican-passed civil rights laws. That enabled the Southern Democrats to pass the Jim Crow laws, poll taxes, literacy tests, and so on, in their individual states.

Civil rights in the '60s? Only 64 percent of Democrats in Congress voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act (153 for, 91 against in the House; and 46 for, 21 against in the Senate). But 80 percent of Republicans (136 for, 35 against in the House; and 27 for, 6 against in the Senate) voted for the 1964 Act.

Again I say..

Why are democrats so anti education?

Why?
How many ill-educated Right-wing nutjobs know that the Democratic and Republican parties switched roles? How many know why? Or when? How many actually care about impartial truth..and nuanced views of history? How many think that spin and shouting deliberate obfuscations will somehow justify their pin-head points of view?

Democrats and Republicans Switched Platforms - Fact or Myth?

I could easily debunk 90% of what you have posted..but it would be a colossal waste of time..since I'm sure you know the truth..you just choose to ignore it in favor of spin...good luck with that. No one outside of your echo chamber is buying it.

Do you know what year it is?

2016..

So do they teach U.S. history now or not?

What is the big deal anyways, if the entire idea is to move forward?

But some things about history you can't ignore other wise history could repeat it self..

Agree or disagree?

I am thinking right now of trumps taking a softer stance on illegals...

HIstory tells us that the racist component of modern American conservatism has its roots in the history of conservatism in this country.
Except Conservatism has absolutely nothing to do with Racism, especially that perpetuated by the Democrat party as of right now. Then again, you could try to tell me that the Democrats that formed the KKK were Conservative... but then you'd be pedaling even more false information.
The Democrats who formed the KKK were ardent racists attempting to get around Reconstruction laws..to terrify the freed slaves into a new kind of slavery--to our countries shame..they were allowed to do so. There were no 'conservatives' as we know them..other than the Northern Robber Barons and industrial magnates. That being said...The Southern Democrats were the antithesis of Liberal. They were more concerned about saving their culture than anything else.

Why?

Well, firstly, the Robber Baron thing has been thoroughly refuted:

Secondly, I don't know how far back you just necroposted, but I've since become an Anarchist, and realized "both" parties are exactly the same, and only exist so that the statists project each other's flaws onto each other, and blame each other for anything which happens, despite Government itself being to blame. So, in short, I don't really care how often you call each other racist or why, since it was ultimately the Government itself which decided to use violence to enslave others.

To
Just like how the US removed its statues and monuments to the British monarchy, and Germany removed its monuments to Hitler.

Lol talk about revise history, your people were fighting for the right to keep blacks as slaves in chains and today you are trying to remove statues of them from public view because youre ashamed of them.

.

Black Republicans caring for a white KKK democrat , why can't we all just get along?

Lol you couldn't debunk shit, don't try your KKK democrat revisionist history on me snow flake..

No one switched fucking party's except 3 .... For example Al gores dad remained a life long Democrat

Because it interferes with indoctrination.

Yeah those southern conservatives can be a bad bunch when it comes to human rights no matter what party panders for their votes.
