This is a serious blow to the Tea Party.
If they couldn't win THIS election, then it's hard to imagine a better chance to win.
NO its not, but continue to believe that if it makes you feel good.

Maybe because the Tea Party is the Klan.
McDaniel was proud of his white sheet
Not hard to figure out, actually
Hey dummy the Klan were and are democrats ....please go learn some history of your party.
That isn't true. We're the ones who voted in the first Black president -- Twice!
There may have been a few Southern democrats who were in the KKK but they certainly aren't now and haven't been for a long long time.
When you know better, you do better. I guess the Republicans just don't know any better yet.

It is not a serious blow to the tea party. If democrats had not crossed over, the tea party would have won. The tea party is much stronger than republicans realized. This many not be lost on Cochran. The democrats who voted for him didn't do so because they suddenly became republicans.

I don't care one way or another. Even fringers deserve their representation - this is America.
But any honest analysis has to consider this a serious blow. This area is prime tea party country. Thad Cochran is the poster boy for everything the tea party hates. McDaniel raked in tons of support and endorsements from the tea party crowd.
And, amazingly enough, the voters rejected him.
It is very hard to imagine a situation that lines up better for the tea party.
There is no butthurt quite like wingnut butthurt! The Associated Press called the race for Cochran, who is up 6,880 votes with 99.9 percent of precincts reporting.
A source close to McDaniel told Breitbart News that he is considering legal challenges over ballots. Democrats who voted for Cochran on Tuesday but voted three weeks ago in the Democratic primary in the state were not allowed to vote in Tuesdays election.
Election results indicate Cochran's late appeal to Democratic voters paid off, with the incumbent senator picking up sizable vote totals in precincts with heavily black populations. Partisanship in Mississippi is largely polarized on racial lines, and Cochran allies paid key Democratic operatives to help turn out the vote.
Cochran Wins, But McDaniel Camp Eying Legal Challenges
We support you Chris McDaniel!

yep, you're right, the voters rejected him-------the democrat voters who voted in the republican primary. Cochran is a democrat dressed up as a rino.
He is also so fricken old that he should not be trying to play senator any more. He is an embarrasment to the state of Miss and to the GOP.
Looks like Daniels will win after all when this is over.
There were 24,889 votes cast in Hinds County in the runoff—17,927 were for Cochran and 6,962 were for McDaniel—but only 20,567 Republican voters are listed in Hinds County
I have no idea why Democrats should be allowed to vote in a Republican primary anyway.
And the same for Republicans being allowed to vote in a Democrat primary.
And what really gets me are the lefties ragging on the tea party candidate
when it took votes from Democrats to beat him.

the dems voted for Cochran because they believed his lies. I guess the most effective liar won.---------------sad, truly sad. The american electorate has way too many ignorant people ----------- thanks teachers union.

They are, and always have been, right wingers. Learn some history yourself!
As per the link I provided in my last post, only 84,339 votes were cast in the Democratic primary this year.
If you look here, you see that 528,260 people voted for Obama in 2012.
674,302 people voted for Romney.
Thus the turnout for the Democratic primary was paltry, to say the least. Only 15% of the number who voted for Obama two years ago.
That leaves a lot of Democrats eligible to vote in yesterday's primary.
Therefore, McDaniel's challenge probably won't succeed.
