Actually, nothing Jesus said was ever written down. What is attributed to Jesus was written several generations after Jesus died.

The New Testament was mostly written by his disciples after his crucifixion. Many of them were dead not long afterwards. It has been translated numerous times. Some of the meaning may have been lost.
They were "written" by the disciples? Really? Says who?

Where do we see them defending their versions/gospels against their contempories? Do you know?
mudwhistle or are they gospels 'attributed' ??

:eusa_silenced:

obviously not.....if someone speaks about what they have observed or heard, it is not hearsay....
really?too bad none of it can be corroborated by an extra biblical source..

wait....did you think that turns it into hearsay?.....

I searched google and couldn't find any link with a credible argument or source that dates the gospels to have been written during Jesus' lifetime, or even the lifetime of Paul, Luke...
Maybe you have something?

????.....no one claims the gospels were written during the time Jesus was on earth.....that has nothing to do with the issue of hearsay......

corroboration does not turn hearsay into non-hearsay.....lack of corroboration does not turn non-hearsay into hearsay......

however, if you are claiming that you searched google and couldn't find a source that dates the gospels to have been written during the lifetimes of Paul or Luke you are simply lying....

Maybe you can find something? Seriously, even pro-bible scholars couldn't date the stuff near Jesus' lifetime.

Attempts by proponents of Metaphysical (incorporeal) naturalism have been made to minimalize and exclude the impact on positivism on faith studies. The LDS philosophers in particularly have been downplaying empirical evidence as necessary to Mormon Studies, as an example.

All believers (including me) can have all the faith we want, but we also live in a world controlled by God's natural laws and human events.

Thus both extremes should be careful of claims and demonization of the others.

When were the Gospels written?

From your article.

For example, suggested dates for the writing of the Gospel of Matthew range from as early as A.D. 40 to as late as A.D. 140. This wide range of dates from scholars indicates the subjective nature of the dating process. Generally, one will find that the presuppositions of the scholars greatly influence their dating of the Gospels.

yes.....do.....
Even if the Gospels were not written until 30 years after Christ’s death, that would still place the writing of them prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. This presents no major problem with their authority or accuracy. Passing on oral traditions and teachings was commonplace in the Jewish culture of that day, and memorization was highly cultivated and practiced. Also, the fact that even at that time there would have been a considerable number of eyewitnesses around to dispute and discredit any false claims, and the fact that none of the “hard sayings” of Jesus were taken from the Gospel accounts, further supports their accuracy.

And: "There are scholars who believe the Gospel of Matthew was written as early as ten to twelve years after the death of Christ."

So it's only their opinion anyways, although 10 to 12 years after Jesus died, meaning more like 15 years after the events, is totally dubious, to say the least.

Like he said, presuppositions are the key. Several of them are stated in this excerpt.

Here is another film about Noah and the Ark. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx5QWrbekYc]Noah 2014 full Hollywood film TRUE?..... Movie Just Like Noah - YouTube[/ame] It's a miniseries from 1999.

The story is a Biblical story, completely unrealistic. To believe in it would be ridiculous. Even Biblical scholars don't believe in it. The story is an allegory.
If we interpret this story literally, it is a “wet holocaust.”
Noah and the Flood It is not to be taken literally.
