Former Nobel Director Regrets Giving Obama Peace Prize

Admits the committee was hoodwinked by "hope and change."

In his newly published memoir, former director of Norway's Nobel Institute Geil Lundestad expressed regret over giving President Obama the 2009 Nobel Peace award, citing that he did not meet the committee's expectations.

Lundestad said the committee was unanimous in its decision at the time because they believed the hype surrounding his "hope and change" rhetoric and felt the prize would boost the president's confidence to reach his goals, particularly nuclear disarmament. (See Iran deal) The prize was decidedly not given to Obama because of any previous accomplishments, Lundestad clarified.

As The Washington Times notes, Lundestad stated that the committee has now looked back over the Obama presidency and said that "granting him the award did not fulfill the committee's expectations."

"[We] thought it would strengthen Obama and it didn't have this effect," he said in anAssociated Press interview.

Meh, the Iran deal is almost certainly going to happen and obamas other achievements can't be ignored, and besides, who knows what could have happened if the pubbies didn't block everything he tried to do?

You think the Iran deal will lead to peace? LMAO Really? Gawd you are indeed an idiot clown

I am surprised that they havent given one to Anthony Wiener yet, he has accomplished so much over the last 10 years. ask any girl under 17.

If Obama gets one for reading off of cue cards, then all Americans who have used a toilet at least once should also recieve a Noble Peace Prize,

Now THERE is a worthy Nobel winner.

Whether you are an Obama supporter or not, it was pretty silly to give him The Noble Prize that early in his administration. The whole thing was just awkward.

Indeed who knows what President Obama might have accomplished without those pesky Republicrats standing in his way......

Hey, didnt Alec Baldwin once have a radio show when no one ever called in? Now that alone deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. "hmm, interesting:"

It's nice to see him admit he gave that lying pile of shit the award for talking a good game and not for doing jack.

how can a grown up not know leftist lie all the time?

Failure is something to be rewarded n left-wing circles.

Actually not even failure but just not doing anything. Obama was nominated for the award when he just entered office. Left-wingers tend to idolize their leaders like some kind of gods; look all over the world and you will see it's true
